So you've made advanced plans with someone you know well, booked a very nice room at a good hotel (think king size bed, fancy decor, double spa bath & rainfall shower) and pre-booked a full English next morning.

Then the nightmare happens. They can't make it (genuine reason, fully understandable and no hate at all for cancelling).

It's too late to cancel the room (pre-paid) or change the date to an alternative. It's a fucking nice room and seems a waste for it not to be used.

Would you...

a.) Just go on your own, enjoy the room for some downtime and have a relaxing night away from home. Maybe take some nice selfies.

b.) Look for alternative last minute company, either with someone else you know or a complete random on Fab.

c.) Just right it off and stay home, as it would save on travel time, fuel and parking.

I already 99% know what I'm planning on doing. Just curious as to what others would do in the situation?

I would A).

At the moment, all your "visualisations" have been about this hotel with person "X".

Get to the hotel, enjoy the hotel, enjoy "you" in the hotel, and if you're feeling frisky, see if there's someone local for a spontaneous meet.

Then you have a whole series of fresh memories to overtake the visualisations of the planned meet....and (most importantly) you're not "forcing the pace".

And if you're not feeling frisky, just do A) in its entirety.

I wouldn't consider C) - you're looking forward to getting away from home too much judging by the way you've worded this.

Do A), because it lets a version of B) in as a spontaneous bonus if you "feel it" once you're there, rather than a rushed and unwanted scenario of "must find klunge for paid hotel".

But nope. Keeping it for myself. Camera batteries charged and making the most of things to get some shiny new posh hotel profile pics done.

Besides.......an evening in a spa bath with wine, snacks and Netflix isn't a bad alternative to sex. 🤷‍♂️

If it's paid for then may as well go.

If someone I'm comfortable enough with was free and happy to get the extra on a cancellation with full knowledge then take them along.

I wouldn't anyone to feel like they were a last minute substitution or a "you'll do" sort of thing. But I'm often low on availability so the odd last minute thing isn't always unwelcome. But if no-one suitable I'd just go alone with a good book and a tentacle or three 💜

Last time I was there with the OH they were banging on the door as apparently we'd set the smoke alarm off by leaving the bathroom door ajar whilst in the spa bath.

Check in then hit the high street department store, have one of the stunning ladies there pick you a new sent ,then head for a few scoops check out the local scene, then back to the hotel freshen up for dinner,maybe head back to one of the bars that impressed you then later chill at the res bar and see who admires your new sent, you never know, you might get lucky.

Definitely A or B. I'd definitely try to take someone else, be it a partner or friend, if they were available. I'd explain the circumstances because my partners and friends are understanding sorts and actually would most likely have been aware of my original plans in advance. So they wouldn't feel like a plan B, we'd just be grateful for the opportunity to spend time together in lovely surroundings.

But I'd also enjoy the luxury by myself if not. 😍
