But love now?

Mine was carrots! But absolutely love them now! Can give Bugs Bunny a run for his money! But still need those bloody night vision goggles when driving in the dark!

"Mushrooms, had a massive phobia as a child, I eat them raw now"

A euphemism (as in Stormy Daniels' description of the orange one!)

Steak...

Mum went all posh once and got fillet steak which put me off all steak.

Still don't like fillet but love a good rump (ooh er) or sirloin.

Also used to hate any sign of pink but go for medium now.

Curry.

As a child, I didn't like the spiciness, and my mum would make a smaller stew alongside the curry for me.

Then, when I was about 14, something clicked and I tried it and loved it. Now I love it! I also spice about a third of my cooking - curries, chilli, bobotie, cajun dishes... even just peanut butter toast with chilli sauce!

🤣

Exactly this for me! (Except the peanut butter on toast with chilli sauce Davina, you wrongun!)

From hating anything spicy I worked up to hot chillis and vindaloos, but I took it down a couple of notches to appease my poor little bottom.

Everyone used to think I was mad, until one day Nandos released a peanut butter peri-peri sauce...

Come over to the Dark Side - you know you want to!

I used to hate (and still not a fan of) curries that mixed meat and potatoes, so my Mum would always make two separate ones.

I couldn't think of a food, but actually peanut butter is probably one! I wanted to love it as a child (blame American TV/films), but wasted many a jar. Can gorge in it now!

My mum made homemade curry for us growing up and I'd refuse to eat it. I'd just have plain rice with whatever was handy for her to do. I had my first one at 24. I love a curry now.

An alternate curry. That's nice though, my brother and I had to get on with it. My dad would make curries and chilli to his taste. Really hot. We had to eat it. We only got a reprieve once when he made one even too hot for himself!

I think all the stuff I hated as a kid I still don't like now. Anything from the sea and mushrooms.

How about foods that your parents cooked that were crap and put you off until you realised what properly cooked meant? Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, watery mash, steak, etc etc
