"Not a rip roaring one, but gets the hairs up every time... Romeo and Juliet, Dire Straits " Why do you like that DS tune so much? Simple - because you're too young to remember Private Investigations...

"Not a rip roaring one, but gets the hairs up every time... Romeo and Juliet, Dire Straits I'm glad it isn't just me " And as utterly beautiful as that intro and song are to me, I also love the proto-shredding from 1969's Ten Years After. If you don't know them, here's a taste, Woodstock: https://youtu.be/IaKgQATdB6I?si=Vim3MU6yhRARGrGr

"Not a rip roaring one, but gets the hairs up every time... Romeo and Juliet, Dire Straits Why do you like that DS tune so much? Simple - because you're too young to remember Private Investigations..." Private investigations is literally one of my most favourite songs, definitely in my top 20. So to assume I'm too young to remember it (which I thank you for btw as I'm close to 50), is way off the mark. Oh and let's face it, the guitar comes in way too late to put it as a guitar intro, for me. Great great tune none the less. There are personal reasons why I love R&J so much. It just hits me every time I hear the intro, no matter what mood I'm in, I love it.

""in memory of Elizabeth reed" Allman Brothers " I'm going to go with "One Way Out", recorded at The Fillmore East, and features on their album "Eat a Peach". Admittedly, it's a Sonny Boy Williamson / Ellmore James song, but they certainly make it rock. Dickey Betts sets up the groove and Duane Allman's slide playing is the icing AND the cherry on top of the cake.

"Crazy train- black sabbath Ozzy not Sabbath 🤓 Zakk Wylde or Randy Rhoads..? Randy Rhoades obviously. " Whilst I love both Guitarists. For me Jake E Lee was my fave Ozzy Guitarist.. and one of my all time fave guitarists. So the intro to Bark at The Moon is up there along with any track from the two Badlands albums he played on..

"Absolute epic for me is Pull me under by Dream theatre Rarely hear it anywhere! Also Layla, Derek and the dominoes. Gotta love some Clapton. " Saw an article on the Moody Blues recently. If you listen to the keyboard breaks in the verses in Nights in White Satin, the bit that goes "de de de di de de daa", transfer it to the guitar and speed it up a bit, it's the intro to Layla!

"Absolute epic for me is Pull me under by Dream theatre Rarely hear it anywhere! Also Layla, Derek and the dominoes. Gotta love some Clapton. " it was mostly Duane Allman playing lead parts. Clapton had an arrangement for it that wasn’t working and Clapton invited Duane to the sessions to ‘light a fire under it’
