Growing up my dad was a teddy boy with the big quiff , drove a ford cortina and liked his hot rods and now plays in a rock and roll band so I grew up listening to the likes of Eddie Cochran , Gene Vincent , Stray cats to the likes of Frenzy , Guana Batz , Demented are go etc…. Just wondering if anyone else is still into that Era/Genre as it seems to be dying out especially amongst us younger generation

My Dad was a Teddy boy too. I was raised on the same music, along with Buddy Holly and Frankie Valens, Helen Shapiro

I just love that eta, the vibe, the clothes. I do think sometimes I was born at the wrong time

Now I listen to Post Modern Jukebox and Amy Winehouse

Solihull and Brentwood

Didn't really like that era of music, in the 80's. Hope it doesn't die out.

But as time travelled on, around the 90's I started to see that the 50's/60's had an awful lot going for it:

Ladies fashions, (Stockings and huge flowing skirts) music, (Elvis, Little Richard, Chuck Berry as well as Dwayne Eddy etc.) and everything surrounding that era. Just would have been a fun time to be growing up in......but then I may have missed Blondie. Decisions.

I used to go to Dingwalls during the daytime at the weekend as a teenager. There would be rockabilly and psychobillys dancing and hanging out. I could never master the moves but appreciated the art form. Loved a bit of The Meteors, king Kurt and the cramps back then too (still love the cramps)

Sadly never went stomping at Klub foot

My Dad and his mates would travel from Bath to the Klub foot to see the likes of Batmobile , Restless etc…. Still got loads of old merchandise that he got from the Klub foot , it looked amazing place to go unfortunately I was born in the wrong era , I’ll have to check out that Psycobilly festival though

Steve Whitehouse from Frenzy lives just down the road from me and always does a few local gigs at Christmas so I try to get out and see them when I can

I had no interest in rock and roll growing up as a young punk rocker I remember laughing at Ted's in there 40s..(at a safe distance as they couldn't run fast in those creepers)😹

But now as a 58 year old punk rocker my music tastes have broadened and I've amassed a collection of rockabilly compilations and the like.
