This one. Amber has been really useful too on occasion. The traffic light system is great!

Although the idea of using the word 'Meatloaf' always makes me chuckle.

I use the traffic light system too, and I’ve always found it works really well. Obviously, green never really comes up, but amber occasionally has and is a great succinct way to communicate that the limit is near without ruining the moment. Red…. Is absolutely clear to all.

I enjoy helping someone I play with find their safewords, and enjoy the psychological aspect of it being a word they use on a daily basis.

Traffic light system and drop items also employed.

Drop items. I use hand bells. If you can’t verbalise or can’t remember the word they’re a great way to get my attention. Either dropped or shaken

Another vote for drop items here. The first time Debs and I played in a loud environment I gave her my cigarettes to drop if she needed to.

I got the pack back totally squashed. It was then I realised tha a fragile item wasn't a good idea and how stubborn she can be

This.

If my partner didn't stop when I said "stop" or "no" that would be the last time I'd have sex with them. Clear language benefits everyone. I don't see the point of speaking in code.

Within a kink scene or roleplay using the words no or stop can be part of the “event” or simply easy to say when you don’t really mean it and are fully inside your head. Therefore it’s safer for everyone there that there is a separate word that indicates that things do indeed need to stop.

Silly example “oh god!, oh don’t!, stop! I’m going to cum”

Having a distinct memorable safeword prevents miscommunication.

It is funny as it's a bastardisation of several Latin terms and only invented in the 18th century.

I did once manage to bust it out on a fab meet. Must have worked. She met me again

If I'm involved in a kink scene I tend to want to have a chat about what people want in advance.

I like the Traffic Light system. As you've got a chance to throttle back, and a colour check can be easy to slip into an RP scene without breaking the mood.

Ditto to this. You can get a kids toy which flashes, lights up and makes a noise when it's dropped. That's another great indicator.

This, it's important to have word you wouldn't use in ordinary conversation and can't be confused like in the example above.

Don't, stop

And

Don't stop

Very different when written but spoken the two could be confused.
