What determines the success of a thread? And what determines its demise? Is it about longevity, quality or uniqueness?

This thread has no purpose. I am simply curious. 🦋

I don't think quality or uniqueness will be high on the list.

Don't know what you mean by longevity.

Any of the following should bring you some success:

- BBW appreciation

- It's definitely piss

- Do real women have curves?

- Please help me cheat on my wife

- We need more vegan cyclists

- JK Rowling speaks sense and you know it

- Real men prefer slim women

Good luck

There is a lot of repetition of threads.

I don’t have an issue with that as you may have missed them previously

I will say the most likely point is who the OP is or who joins in on it

Vanity games always do well. We all love a compliment and some free porn in our mail box

Controversy does very well. Starting a fight with strangers on the internet and dying on that hill is an age old tradition.

Lounge regulars could start a thread about almost anything including but not limited to vegetables, hot tubs or parking tickets and they will do well because friends shooting the shit is a forum staple.

Newbies asking oft repeated questions are doomed to oblivion.

Success doesn't necessarily equate to being filled in my mind. Going with the idea it does...

chewing gum for the brain. People like simple ones. Ones that require a yes or no.

Ones that require flirting/circle jerking.

Threads that discuss the forum. Bonus points to if it's about negative topics, I can think of a few posters who lap those kind up.

Ones about the best of. People like attention and competition. Even more so if it allows for a lot of perving.

Gently suggestive, flirty ones. They work well depending on the OP.

Threads where a poster says something a bit dickish. The usual suspects will make an appearance.

Ones where the OP actively engages with posters - inclusivity has dropped and people like to feel read. Seen.

Why thank you, kind sir.

I've always leant toward the wandering bard. Living the high life, amongst the aristocracy, one moment and hustling amongst gutter rats the next. Resting; anonymously, in a pauper's grave, after meeting my demise beneath a mighty oak with naught but an empty bottle of champagne in my hand and a feather in my cap.
