You say that many of the profiles you look at want 55s and above while many people, mostly men it has to be said, often claim on here that most people have cut off points at 45 or 50. The op is saying he is outside many peoples filters and I know that I am well outside many also but the strange thing is that in all the years I've been here I've never once had a conversation about my age and it has never once been an issue. I was 52 when I first joined but maybe because my own filters are very narrow and I don't meet or chat to anyone on fab within 10 years of my eldest child I've never thought that I was missing out on anything. I'm more than capable of having a conversation with much younger people and often do but not on fab. When my filters were more relaxed I had numerous messages from young women wanting to "try" an older man and even the fact they used the word "try" was off-putting in itself. I'm one of those who doesn't agree that age is just a number. It's a biological fact and while I'm still scaling mountains and hiking long distances every week and generally don't act my age, the reality is that by my own choice I'm too old for some people and too young to sit around doing nothing. | |||
