Outsider here. Tried to watch it but never got into it. A shame though because American football in films looks amazing.

I have a question though. How do you guys pick the team your supporting?

Baltimore just kinda resonated with me as it’s a tough working class city like my hometown (Portsmouth) so I just kinda gravitated towards them, plus the colour purple is cool

A game between 2 teams, that themselves are made up of two teams. A game that involves advancing the ball down the field, ideally with a long throw to players that can run fast, while the rest of your team, within a team, block the opposition’s team within the team from getting to the player with the ball….

In principle that sounds mildly entertaining until you realise that 10 yards or so they all stop, head butt helmets or slap each other, line up and repeat the process. Occasionally one guy, comes on kicks the ball (punts) then goes and sits down again.

If you look at footage from the 40s and 50s you’ll see them throwing the ball several times between them, it almost looks like free-jamming rugby league. I’ve tried, honest I’ve tried but it’s like watching paint dry.

But for anyone who does watch it, enjoy!

Haha! That was actually an amusing summary

But (to me) the biggest mistake laypeople make with trying to get American football is comparing it to soccer or rugby. You have to think of it more like angry chess. It’s a game of strategy and tactics but with explosive sport instead of moving pieces on a board. Just think of the teams as chuffing great hairy angry pawns, knights, bishops etc. Grrrrrrr 💪👊

I hate the fact that UM get to enjoy winning the national championship before it’s inevitably taken away from them and vacated!

The only thing keeping me on the ledge this year is the amount of times they are hopefully going to get trucked this year on everyone else’s revenge tour… hopefully starting with Texas on Saturday! And then they have Oregon, Washington and Ohio State on their schedule!!

I’m a very proud Chiefs fan….

And before you all kick off about supporting the best team I’ve been a Chief since 1990 and deliberately picked them because they were a middlin team at the time. We had years of mediocrity with occasional good and desperately bad blips. This streak was 50 years in the making!

Fan of the NFL since seeing ten minutes of highlights of the Super Bowl in the late 70's !

They had to…. Basically it’s now about the market rate or at the end of the season he would have been an unrestricted free agent

Dallas always play this game of chicken with their best players.. and always get burned! If they had done the deal last year they probably would have saved about 50 million!

Tyreek Hill is no angel and there have been domestic abuse issues he has been involved in

Having said that the police reaction to both and Calais Campbell was ridiculous. Pulled over for possibly speeding and they go from zero to having him pinned on the floor in seconds. All of this for a guy in a nice car in a nice area

I'd hate to be a black guy, in a "suspicious" looking car in a dodgier area if that's the general treatment you could get

As normal.. get up early to speed through the Thursday night game…

Watched it only as far as the tua concussion.. couldn’t bring myself to watch the rest of the game…

As soon as it happened I think everyone’s reaction was … oh no! Not again!

I think the kid is going to have to retire… take this years money.. ride off into the sunset!

I remember that show! Was it a guy called Mick Luck who used to bang on about “My old team the Atlanta Falcons….”

Yep !

And Gary Imlach was a presenter as well.

I had to watch the programme on our 12 inch B&W telly !"

I can still remember our gary doing a piece to camera and getting chinned by a player’s shoulder pads! He’s taken up the gentler sport of cycling but is actually very good at presenting that.

Polite request folks, could we please not post live scores? Those of us in England don’t get to watch the game until at least the following day.

Thanks ❤️

The Browns have always been a dull team to watch. And Dak Prescott really pisses me off with his snap count “Here we goooo”. Prick. And once you hear it, you can’t unhear it.

For the only time this season….

DECO-BOX action! (That’s 10 games at the same time!)

This is mad… Scott is having trouble keeping up!

"Strange weekend"

I think both weeks have been strange, there's a few teams I'm keeping an eye on who shouldn't be doing so well. Saints especially

Cant complain about the packers last night.

Got a win when i doubt anyone really expected them too.

That and coach's comments on the chucky pass. Of you know you know.
