We are currently enjoying a lovely afternoon tea at EJ's Tearoom in Yorkshire.

Just wondered how many of you enjoy an afternoon tea?

And if so, where's your favourite place to partake of this treat?

Had one for the first time recently and it was a pretty interesting to see the variety of food and the overall experience. I won't lie, but I did feel like a bit of a fraud as it felt like it was something a lot fancier than what I'm used to.

Next Door

I love an afternoon tea.

A glass of fizz, savouries, mini desserts then a scone, jam and cream. Lots of tea.

Had a lovely one in Polperro, Cornwall a few years ago. We had to take half of it home, as couldn't eat it all.

I went to one recently.

I prefer less sweet stuff and more cocktails. Nice though.

Currently pretending to work, but sitting with the sun shining down and an iced lemon squash in my hand. Could just do with a five pack of jam doughnuts.

I detest Åfternoon Teå. A pompous, hoity-toity ritualistic affair of stuffy nosed beautiful women, with fragrant scents, amorous designs upon me, lewd thoughts about sex, pinky fingers pointing at my genitals as they sip their darling Darjeeling, popping scones into their dainty lip-glossed mouths in a lecherously seductive way, inviting me into their hearts and pastries, leaving me with the desires and the penchant to declare that I absolutely love Afternoon Teå!! 🫖🍸🍰

You're coming again, to the next one, whether you like it or not! The next one will be even more posh for a young Sirrah such as yourself!

I’m an afternoon tea lover. For dainty and refined its Betty’s tearoom, I like the Harrogate branch best. Or for a more generous take on the traditional afternoon tea it has to be any of the Running Fox branches in Northumberland…utterly delightful but never managed to eat a complete one yet!

A lovely cup of strong (loose leaf) tea, home made Hot Welsh cakes and Bara Brith with real butter on top, after a (canned) Salmon sandwich.

Afternoon Tea, unpretentious, Wales style.

Yum Yum / Heaven

Tonypandy.

Taken afternoon tea at the Savoy, the Ritz and several other posh places when friends visited. All far too poncy for me.

Most fun time was the boozy one we did at a charity garden party.

Then I went for 'gentlemans afternoon tea' which was great. Far more fun as we got beer, whiskey and a pinch of snuff. (Think it was at the Swan).

Our fave spa hotel doesn't do afternoon tea.

But it's not too far from Biddy's, so we could do both in one day.

We had a great Fish and chips afternoon tea in Whitby.

We've not gone for the real posh ones.. the poshest one we did was in Weymouth in a very swish hotel, but it was just OK...

I once had an amazing afternoon tea at a boutique hotel in jersey. Their scones, and of course jersey dairy cream, are the business. And the surroundings and weather were perfect too. I love that island.

Thank you all for the varied responses..

As a younger guy, I wasn't interested in things like poncy afternoon teas. But since being with my partner, I discovered that they don't have to be poncy. There's such a wide variety of afternoon teas...

And as a fully qualified greedy bastard.. I love how filling they are.
