Do you go onto someone's house and get slightly annoyed where they put things. I was at a friend's house recently and their plates went in the top cupboard but I store mine in the bottom cupboard.

Their messy drawer in the kitchen was the second drawer down from the knives and forks. Surely that's where the secondary cutlery and utensils go. I wanted to rearrange their kitchen to make it more normal.

You'd be brain fried in my house.

I put my often used tools in the first cupboard in the kitchen to save me going to the shed in winter.

If you want plates you have to go to the furthest cupboard over the dishwasher adjacent to the sink and just left of the washing machine and next to the cooker fan

My utensils hang from the ceiling

Utensils hanging from the ceiling, love that.

You’d struggle in mine, I’m minimalist! No messy drawers and often knocking on neighbours for extra plates and cutlery, or buying paper plates, if more than 3 come over

Tidy, clean and fresh smelling does it for me.

Agreed. When you go to a couples house who don't have children and the walls are crisp white.....instead of dirty hand prints everywhere.

Yes. And you are not judging them, it's something that you either envy about their home or annoyed by it. Like when you open a food cupboard and they have the containers labelled.

General no with the exception of the cutlery. Why do some people have them arranged so strangely. It should be forks on the left, soup and dessert spoons in the middle, knives on the right; just the way you would set them on the table.

And why to some people out their teaspoons with their other spoons. no No NO! Teaspoons belong in the separate compartment either at the top or bottom. FFS, WHAT'S WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE

My cutlery is (left to right) knife, fork then spoon…as you say it, not how you lay it.

And I have two teaspoon sections - one for metal and one for plastic

I thought that you hung the carcasses of past lovers from the ceiling and that was the real reason for keeping your tools in the first kitchen cupboard!

Why do you have plastic teaspoons?

Are you afraid that the guests might run off with the family silver?

Are there people who live with you who cannot be trusted with metal implements?

Not really. I do get a bit frustrated by my friend who is an ace builder, but whose house is a bit of a wreck. I suppose he gets fed up putting other people's homes to rights, but with his skill, his place could be a real show home

Mine has to be forks, knives and big spoons as the knives don't fit the other way round.

We've been in the house just over 3 years and only just recently got the cupboards "feeling right". Like I am a short arse and we had all the food items in a cupboard which wasn't easy to get too, did we think to move it all before? Nope it's just been moved, same as the glasses, oh stick them on the top shelf? Absolutely, could I get to them without standing on tip toes? Nope, they only just got moved too 😂.

That's the way the patent design shows it should be and therefore is the correct way.

They’re very old baby spoons, camping sporks and medicine spoons - a bit of a random collection but themed by ‘plastic’

…nice to know the videos are appreciated more than my drawers

I don't look around other people's houses. Not at the pictures on the wall, the ornaments on the mantelpiece, or any other items. I keep my eyes either focussed on them, or cast down at the floor. If they had some in your face unavoidable decoration, no matter how nice or horrible it was, I would not comment on it.(And dread being asked if they do!).

Whichever way I am holding the toilet roll round, is the way it goes on the holder. That's in my own private bathroom.

.

Mrs DS can do what she likes with her own in her own bathroom, it doesn't bother me.

Love looking at others ornaments. It's a great way to start a conversation. Where's that from? Did you make that? Is that from your eldest child? Did you take that from my house the last time you were there? Is that the original photo of man holding baby?

Oooh!! A magic eye pic,I love these.

Anyone saying that they don't make judgement is bullshit.

That's a nice wallpaper.

Is that duck egg?

I saw that idea on changing rooms.

I have a similar room layout but our cross hangs upside down and the candles are black.

In one, no two of my long term partner's flats I couldn't work out how to turn on the tap, and the drawers were touch to open.

There wasn't a thing on the counters except the kettle.

As to the question..

I'd never move someone else's stuff.

That's just bad form. It's not my house.

My daughter once came over when I was out. Just for defilement, she changed the order of my guitars hanging on the wall.

I went BSC at her.

I could never put someone else through that trauma.

Quite so. If it is that way round you can place a half used one (upside down) on top of a new but started roll without the new one unwinding as you tug at the older one!

There is a good reason for everything.
