Vanishing acts.

I’ve begun to conclude that the more you connect with a person before meeting them, the more likely they are to simply vanish afterwards. Ultimately a cowardly act and probably one I’ve done myself a few times over the years, on finding out that they were crap in bed or smelt of something peculiar or whatever. These 360 degree turnarounds do tend to make the head spin though. Who has experienced this and have you gotten used to just dismissing it as though it never happened?

There's been a fair few times someone I've been literally mid-conversation with just stops responding and then starts a new topic a few days later like nothing happened. XD I generally just assume life happened or they got distracted by shiny objects.

I think for me that there are many people who will talk the talk but when the actual meet comes they will find either numerous reasons not to attend or just ghost you

I also find there are clever wordsmiths who will say what they think you want to hear rather than just be honest

If someone is married, wanting a one off, wanting more, be honest then I have a choice if I want to be involved

It also amazes me how much busier the site is during the day than at nights…draw your own conclusions on that one

But yes op, people moan about getting no meets then mess people around when they do

We've had a couple of people meet us socially more than once, arrange a date but no specific time or place then just drop off the radar.

It happens

Not really, connecting with people online isn’t the way forward imo, it’s best to get a social or 2 with them as soon as possible, then there’s no picture made up in your mind about them, the sooner I meet somebody r/l, the more likely it’ll turn into something

Maybe it could be that all the interaction is online, so people don’t get to see all the real world nuances of whom they are “connecting”. They are only connecting with written words. They don’t hear emotion or even accent. They don’t see all the little habits and traits that can only be experienced face to face.

The online interaction vs the in person interaction are very different.

surrounded by twinkly lights

I've had a fair few of them with varying degrees of friendship, I just now look at it that they needed me at that time, and now they don't, rather than spending any more time being bitter, frustrated and cross with them. Now I spend my time wisely, looking at those types of acquaintanceship, as like slot machines, fun to spend while it lasts, but no longterm investment is needed.

We have had our fair share of plenty of men who talk the talk but disappear when the time comes.

We just chalk it up to their loss, not ours. Report and block then move on
