Somewhere In The Ether…

Ey up again good folks

What daft things scared you as a child?

I’ll start; Zippy from Rainbow freaked me right the hell out.

Those googly eyes…that ghastly voice and the fact that every now and then, Geoffrey would literally zip his mouth shut!

Over to you now

The rat upstairs in the loft.

When I was about 3 or 4 my mum would say "im just going to speak to the rat".

Then she reappear with some sweets.

The rat was just her name for a cardboard box she stored sweets in. Don't know why she called it that.

I thought there was a giant talking rat, living up there.

Some of the things above don't seem that weird.

Daleks were scary, yes.

I used to hide my face in a sofa cushion when Mummra came on the screen during Thundercats. But not that weird, he was a scary bastard.

I used to freak out if the wardrobe doors weren't shut fully.

It was the 3D one that freaked me out the animated one I was fine with and only the little red dressed one which someone said is "Little My"

I think part of it was the 3D one was darker and the animated one is much clearer and brighter

Only one thing ever lol

The dark at night when I was about 10. Started after watching one of the spook movies. Had some nasty nightmare that I don't remember lol. After about a week of that I decided I had to confront the evil spook. So after everyone was asleep and around midnight (Scary lol) I sneaked out into the back garden. Scared the living hell out of me lol literally. Kept my hands to my sides and slowly walked to the back of the long garden to the bushes and back just using the stars for some light. Worked, never had any fear of it again.
