I got a message from a couple saying "For the right offer £"

Of course, I asked if it meant they were asking for money for an evening of fun.

They replied with "The £ sign means fun".

Is this something I'm unaware of or am I right in assuming they want paying?

If assume the same thing. Why not write fun if they mean fun. Why is £?
