Still adjusting to cleats - I have grazes on my knees and not the fun kind from fun times, but from falling off the bl00dy bike. 40 miles done today (and actually didn’t fall off once so maybe there’s hope yet?!)

I keep being told of these nice sunny days where there’s no wind which are perfect for cycling but so far I reckon my friends are lying - it’s been miserable every time I’ve been out lately.

Everyone's got to have one awkward embarrassing fall due to cleats, it's a right of passage!

Well done on the 40 Mike's! ( and no crashes!)

I think the sunny days are a myth, an old wives tales, I don't think they exist!

Went to Italy last week and it seems like the £13k dogma I bought does not fit or work for me at all.

I took the dogma and then hired an Emunda Trek bike and all the confidence and joy of riding a bike returned after been missing for years.

Now I need to get one of these bikes.

That's the problem with bikes they look good but not always fit well for the individual. A bit like shoes tbh.

As for the Dogma I was listening to a podcast and one of the pros said a similar thing in the fact he didn't get on with the fit of the Dogma.

Cycling was the first endurance sport I did, then moved onto long distance triathlon, which does have cycling in it. Currently training for Barcelona ironman in October, so riding at least an hour, 5 days a week, longer on the weekend. I went out on Sunday, weather not do good and ended up with a puncture to repair...good practice though.

Purely MTB for me, the only time I ride on the road is to get to a trail. I’m supposed to be racing at Ard Rock this weekend but I’m working the UFC in Manchester and they’re working to US broadcast times so I don’t finish until 0730. No way I can do 14hr night shift then drive 3 hours then race. And all on my birthday too! I’m getting properly fucked and not in a good way

I used to ride 100’s of road miles. I’m a bit too fat for my bike currently, and the state of the roads, plus drivers attitudes….put me off trying to get back into it with any seriousness.

I shall be mounting my roadie to a trainer and sticking to ‘riding’ in the garden.

The saddle I'm using is the saddle that came on the bike, it's fine on commutes and up to 40k, once I go up to 50-60k it's very uncomfortable to the point I couldn't cycle again for 2-3 days.

I've had a bike fit etc, and bought good quality bib shorts, so it must just be the saddle shape.

Did you mention in the bike fit you get saddle soreness? For me a good bike fitter should be able to pin point the cause of this. For example, excessive saddle height or the reach is too far on your bike, causing you to sit too far forward on the saddle. Or it could just be that like you say the saddle is the wrong shape for you.

Just back from Morzine. Bike held up superbly along surprisingly with my body 🤔

Titz Towers, North Notts

My bike is in for a full service and repair. New chain and cassette at the least.

I could do some of it myself, particularly with the GCN guide book, but given how my life depends on it being done 100% correctly, I'd rather pay for a pro to do it.

Love my bike. Just purchased a new one. Now just need to get out on her more. Annoying thing is my bike wife moved away so I don't have a cycling partner anymore.

I survived doing the dizzying heights of the blue trail at a local forest over the weekend, hardcore or what did actually quite enjoy being off road and reckon I might try the red trail next time 🤔
