I always use dining on my own as a good opportunity to chat to the waiting staff. They're often taken for granted and seem really pleased to chat and give their insight over the menu and drink choices. Assuming the restaurant isn't busy of course!

Enjoy! Go to a really busy one where people are queuing so you get let in first because you're by yourself and you'll feel so important
