Gentlemën, Ladiës, Non-Binariës and Whateveriës... enjoy your Spring, for I shall point my moral compass towards the season of mulled wine, log fires and jam roly polys.

Summer =

Half naked sweaty ass bodies standing near me

Tan lines, they look ridiculous

BBQs, I love burgers but it gets to the 1st June and I'm sick to death of smelling them I'm even put off a Macdonald's. Thanks.

People on bikes, on country roads, when going to work. Every. Single. Day

Hair like Monica from friends. Lovely.

It's a magical time.

I have to hide away in the house with all the windows shut when it gets really bad. I try to resist the urge to itch my eyes. Once you start, you can’t stop. It’s awful.

I love Autumn - the cosy jumpers, the satisfying crunch of leaves underfoot, the myriad of seasonal food and drink (shout out to the PSL). Halloween and beautiful men in Scream masks.

But last year I discovered a new appreciation for Summer. Those lazy, hazy dusky nights with fantastic company and soft kisses. The hue my skin takes after bright mornings walking through peaceful woods. The joy of wearing sundresses and sandals, sitting in a beer garden and talking about everything and nothing.

So, I'm not going to wish away these coming months. The adventures that'll unfold. I will look forward to Autumn but also celebrate the seasons as they come to be.

Being a ginger I should hate the summer but I'm so looking forward to the sun being out again - not having to go out in the cold and wet, being able to go for river-bank walks without sinking into the mud, cycling in perfect conditions, and yes, the delicious torture of pretty women in summer dresses. Much better than not wanting to go outside because of the weather, the difficulty of getting up in the dark mornings, and the general gloom-related SAD.
