Ey up good folks

In my ongoing and most righteous quest to compose the most banal and mundane thread ever conceived, may I pose unto thy fine selves the following, all important question:

When ascending stairs/steps, do you prefer to take one step at a time or else do you alternatively opt for the more athletic feat of two or three (or more!) in a single stride?

Bonus question: On a scale of 1-10, how interminably boring was this thread with 1 being: ‘I found it highly interesting and it has veritably enriched my life for the better - in fact, I feel that it may have provided me full spiritual enlightenment’ and 10 being: ‘It was utter shite and you should be thoroughly ashamed OP!’

I do one step at a time. Both ways. Very carefully. I’m accident prone and I’ve fell down the stairs more times than I care to admit.

I sometimes run or ascend two at a time then my knees remind me that even though I have the mentality of a 30 year old I have the knees of a 41 year old.

Generally though my favourite way it to watch Mrs More's butt wiggling as we go. If there is two or three of us making our way up the stairs that is even better

I used to be far too cocky running up and down stairs, until I tripped and hurt my back and spent the next month walking like a pensioner.

One at a time and holding the handrail kindly provided by the NHS (not for me, I should add, but it's very handy as the built-in rail is on the left side and I'm right-handed.

And yes, I too enjoy the sight of a bottom ascending in front of me.

I'd like two at a time, unless said stairs are at a depth and or/height that might challenge my leg opening abilities.

Keeping the boredom levels going with the stairs theme

Making a real effort to up my fitness levels and I now go up and down our stairs for few minutes to get my pulse rate up

This is an interesting question; I have performed some exhaustive experiments and have subsequently discerned that I am a left foot first kind of dude (even though I am right handed).

I have also observed with not inconsiderable excitement that it is dependent upon how many stairs I am presently descending that dictates which foot is the last one to reach floor level.

I feel positively exhilarated in my scientific findings I must say…

One step at a time. Although on the descension I do tend to put one foot then both feet on the step because I've either just woke up and feel wobbly or my legs hurt from zumba. And I normally have a huge German Shepherd trying to get down the same time as I am

Where my son lived in Edinburgh you had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to get to his flat. I could have done with a little seat and a coffee stall half way up

As for boringness I never had this much fun since I checked out which pylon had pylon of the month! Always a monthly highlight.

Pylon of the month? I’ve clearly been missing out on life here! That sounds right up my street. Telegraph poles have always fascinated me also - I have one in my garden called Dave.

Ahhhh me and Dave are great mates. The stories I could tell you about our adventures together.

And stairs - god bless them! Indeed, if not for these wondrous inventions, I would never be able to visit my upstairs bathroom and marvel at my radiators and towel rail…

Pylon of the month? I’ve clearly been missing out on life here! That sounds right up my street. Telegraph poles have always fascinated me also - I have one in my garden called Dave.

Ahhhh me and Dave are great mates. The stories I could tell you about our adventures together.

And stairs - god bless them! Indeed, if not for these wondrous inventions, I would never be able to visit my upstairs bathroom and marvel at my radiators and towel rail…

Oh yes! Telegraph poles are great! You're so lucky to have one in your garden!!

As for stairs, yes they serve a very useful purpose. Lamp posts are also interesting, we have fancy ones with purple coloured lights, and some in my area are powered by dog poop! How clever is that! There is a box underneath the unit where people deposit their dogs poop and it fuels the light. Great idea for sustainability I feel

It would be great wouldn't it. I wonder how long a German Shepherd poop would power a light bulb for?? Unfortunate if it runs out in the middle of Corrie and you have to go rummaging in the garden for poop
