"We are massive marvel fans and stag is also a massive Star Wars geek " I have to say I'm a lover of Star Wars. I saw The first one at the cinema Christmas 1977.. and loved everything about it since. I don't think I qualify as a geek though as sometimes I'll be asked a question about it and I'll have no idea what the answer is. I did have Star Wars wallpaper as a kid, and a massive Vader poster. I don't hate any of the films. My top two being Star Wars and Rogue One. I despise bloody Jar Jar Binks. Solo is the weakest of all the films.

I get interested in something and it becomes ridiculously important to me for a while - to hear every song by a particular band or read every book by a particular author, or to explore a genre of film I'd not previously much bothered with. "I like building musical instruments. Mostly electronic. " That's interesting. What sort of stuff do you make?.. I bought a little sequencer box thing from an independent maker on etsy, a few months ago..for all the synths ive got. I've got loads of instruments, I'm nerdy about recording/composing music. I'd say I can play about 6 or instruments well, like piano guitar, drums and their derivatives..(like bass, ukelele & percussion etc.) But then I have a collection of unusual instruments that I cannot play at all really. Like the kora I'm looking at the end of the room. It's like an ancient African harp..but I'm keeping it for recording samples with it.

"I used to do C15th reenactment, Wars of the Roses. That got pretty nerdy. Right now I'm seriously into reading text books on the Spanish Civil War & the Anarchist revolution in Barcelona. Also my cycling, as ive just bought *another* bike i suppose I'm pretty nerdy about that too! I'm also reading a book about the Spanish Civil War. I'm pretty nerdy about Spanish history, actually. That, plus science stuff and languages. Mr is a wargamer and ancient history aficionado. And a science geek too. Have you read Giles Tremlett's Ghosts of Spain? A really good loop around Spain, always coming back to the Civil War, Franco's repression & murders, & how the people either collaborated or suffered." I've not read that one, no. I'm currently reading "The Spanish Holocaust" by Paul Preston. I'll look up the one you've mentioned, thanks.

I'll add Preston's book to the pile!

"My son is a game developer and I love hearing about the mechanics and dynamics during the production process. Stuff like motion capture and photogrammetry. I research this a lot I also love clouds And factories, processing plants are a fascination, I love finding out how things are made... Tall structures and urbexing are also a fascination Urbex is great. I went on a tour of a closed tube station recently. It was fascinating. I bet that was amazing!!! It's the old houses that I find most fascinating yet heartbreaking. People's lives just discarded like it didn't matter some stories are sad " Just googled Urbex sounds fascinating, can you recommend any websites for this pls? Love your profile Shady I was smiling from ear to ear after reading it, wanted to PM you to tell you so but I’m too old
