Some of the old timers on here will know Lickety through the forums, clubs and parties.

Over the years, we became good friends, which I'm proud of.

Sadly she passed away after a short illness yesterday. I'll be attending her funeral when it's organised. If anyone else was a friend and wants details, please drop me a private message.

RIP Lickety. A unique and lovely person x

I was fortunate enough to while away a sunny Saturday afternoon in a London park with Cherry Lickety a load of other fabbers.

After the park we all got to go to a bar to sit, talk and exchange stories. I sat next to Lickety whilst we ate food. She asked me all about my life, about meeting Cherry and promised (like so many have) to hunt me down if I did anything to upset her

She was intelligent, interested in what was saying and was really interesting. She had a sincere wonderful smile that was so welcoming it made me feel right at ease sat next to her.

I remarked to Cherry afterwards about her bright warm smile and her sincerity and thought to myself I’d love to see her and chew the fat with her again. “I’m sure we’ll get the chance to chat again” I thought to myself, I never did though and I’m both angry and sad about it.

Posting on a forum thread feels like scant tribute to such a lovely person who seems to have brought a smile to everyone who she met and I wish I could do more.

Be kind each other people, you never know when you may not get a chance again.

Rest in peace dear Lickety.

She meant a lot. She was a lot but in the best of ways - passionate, caring, intense and always with wisdom and time for others. Made you feel like you mattered, were seen and heard. Friendships, work. Random thoughts or more serious matters.

Lickety was truly brilliant and the world is a little less bright without her and her love.

Yesterday I buried and said farewell to a family member.

And in Lickety last few weeks of her own personal journey, she was concerned with my issues, and her family, and what they were going through.

She showed what I already new of my beautiful Lickety. That she cared for others within her personal, and professional life

We were able to confirm our love for each other publicly during the years, and in her final weeks

In her final weeks we cried together and talked about life and what we have done and achieved

The reason why I'm posting this, is.

Don't wait, to tell someone how much you care for them.

Tell them now

Tell them how much you love them, and what them being in your life as lickety was in mine, how much they mean to you

I was fortunate to tell her in the past and in the final days of her journey

I've not read the whole thread but we got together last Sunday to start planning the STP for Lickety.

We also felt there was something we should say about her funeral.

Fab is a strange place, and for a lot of us a 'secret life'. Though many of us loved her dearly, we believe that going to her funeral is a bad idea.

That event is for her family, non-fab friends, work colleagues etc.

People that do not need their memory of her potentially tainted should they find out about this life of hers.

The STP for Lickety will allow for us to grieve, say some words if we wish and remember her fully as a fabulous fab lady

From the above poster, it very much sounds like the funeral has already gone ahead, and that they as a very close personal friend has already noted this. Nobody had offered any personal details regarding that? So, yep you didn't read the whole thread, but you could have noted the post above you? Lovely that you're holding your next function in her name though x

I would have loved to have gone to the service, to say goodbye and listen to all the wonderful things people will say about her. I would be crying the whole time so I'll spend the evening with my sister, remembering the good chats I shared with Lickety and great days we all spent at the Secret Tea Party events, she so thoroughly enjoyed.

I'll forever remember her at the Summer ones where she wore "The Cloud" and brightened up the days even more.

I still can't believe she's gone.

I first met Lickety about 14 years ago. She became my first swinging girlfriend and we were together and exploring the swinging world as newbies together for about 2 years. We remained friends for most of the time since then, but had not been in contact for the last couple of years.

Since hearing about her sad passing, I have been at a loss about how to honor her memory.

I don't often follow the Fab Forum and have only just come across this thread. As most of you know, Lickety loved the Forums and got and gave a lot of pleasure from them. So maybe it's appropriate to post here a couple of memories, from the many that I was lucky enough to have of her.

Lickety was one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, and she combined that with a caring selfless nature. When she reached her 50th year, she decided to mark it by doing 50 things she had never done before. I don't know what all the 50 things were, but it says a lot about her, that one of them was to spend the day in a wheelchair, so she could better emphasise with those who use one regularly.

She asked me to help her with 2 challenges. In the first we spent a glorious day on the Dorset coast. We went canoeing around some beautiful rock formations, I think one of them is called 'Old Harry'. Her challenge was to catch a fish.... and amazingly using a baited line from the canoe, she did!

We then spent a lovely couple of hours on the naturist beach at Studland Bay. Laying next to her, I had my hand on her ample breast and was amazed how after just a few minutes the sun left an imprint of my hand there, she was a super fast tanner.

The second challenge was to accompany her to see the Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland. We had a fun weekend discovering Belfast, but when we got to the hexagonal Bassalt formations, Lickety, not being a natural rock hopper was uncomfortable about leaving the shoreline. However with encouragement and support she made it out to stand on the rocks near to where they disappear into the sea. She loved being so close to the crashing waves and though not fully at ease, was pleased that she had pushed her comfort limits. Something that she did often in life.

These are just a couple of the wonderful memories I have of her. She was truly an amazing and unique woman who was loved by many who got to know her. She enriched the life of many, including me and certainly passed away far too early.

I miss you L, and will always have very fond memories of you.

Love P x

I am genuinely gutted by this sad news

Another former member, who I'm still in touch with, made me aware of Lickety's untimely passing

I only met Lickety once, but there was literally years of contact beforehand, first on the forums and then in private

On meeting, Lickety was everything and more than I expected

A true good soul

I don't think she was 100% aware of the draw she had or the mystique she held - which made her vibe even more alluring

We just clicked

We were once described by another member as 'Lickety was a little bit me and I was a little bit Lickety'

I think it's a fair statement and I am so glad that we did meet

It was like I'd known her forever

If you are reading the Forums from up on high beautiful lady, just know how much you are loved and missed greatly

You left us with a great legacy

You changed mindsets

You changed souls

You made a difference

If I can just add to this, we shared a love for works of Maya Angelou

I think this piece by Maya sums Lickety up beautifully... and with this, I'll leave it here x

PHENOMENAL WOMAN

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.

I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size

But when I start to tell them,

They think I’m telling lies.

I say,

It’s in the reach of my arms,

The span of my hips,

The stride of my step,

The curl of my lips.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

I walk into a room

Just as cool as you please,

And to a man,

The fellows stand or

Fall down on their knees.

Then they swarm around me,

A hive of honey bees.

I say,

It’s the fire in my eyes,

And the flash of my teeth,

The swing in my waist,

And the joy in my feet.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered

What they see in me.

They try so much

But they can’t touch

My inner mystery.

When I try to show them,

They say they still can’t see.

I say,

It’s in the arch of my back,

The sun of my smile,

The ride of my breasts,

The grace of my style.

I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Now you understand

Just why my head’s not bowed.

I don’t shout or jump about

Or have to talk real loud.

When you see me passing,

It ought to make you proud.

I say,

It’s in the click of my heels,

The bend of my hair,

the palm of my hand,

The need for my care.

’Cause I’m a woman

Phenomenally.

Phenomenal woman,

That’s me.

Was so sad to hear this news when I returned. Lickety was one who always used to message me in the shadows, a constant, a beautiful soul and we got each other in such a unique and relaxed way - she’d message after not talking for a year and it was like we’d spoken just yesterday. Was really sad to see this news when I returned to Fab a couple of weeks ago (was not able to post in the Forum as you have to wait 14 days).

Lickety was lovely, eccentric, funny, encouraging, kind to me and happy to meet socially for a drink when we were in town at the same time (in the days prior to the pandemic).

Only picked up on this now.

We went to the funeral and it was a sad but "lickety" send off. Smiles and tears.

We were friends for years and had a special connection for a few reasons.

But must admit, we didn't really appreciate the good work she did for charity and good causes.

What a lovely woman, sadly missed.
