Secondly there’s no stigma about a twenty year old dating a twenty five year old. They’re both basically the same age and they both share the same cultural/generational experiences. The point of a cougar is the generation/cultural gap. As I understand it, it come from the idea that an older woman can teach a younger man about life and sex. A 25 year old woman is unlikely to have much more cultural/sexual experience than a 20 year old man because of the way that women are shamed for having sex while men aren’t. | |||

The friend’s mum is a fantasy but I think it’s broader than that. It’s about a woman, old enough to be their mother that is not necessarily a mother. In fact I think most ‘cougars’ tend not to be mothers (have less hang ups about ‘you’re my kids age’) | |||

I'm gonna respectfully disagree here but we are entitled to our own opinions right?! The girls women debate is one in itself, I deal with alot of 20 something year old women as you call them and they would have to be called women
Also the younger generation anything goes. It's very common now for (sexual) women in their 20s to have had more sexual partners than the men unless they are the elite love island style good looking.
Alot of women graft to the same guy, which means alot of men in their 20s are left out. Maybe not a few generations ago, but that's happening now. Sexual liberation for women and all! | |||
