Do we all age differently?

I want to know - do we all age at different rates?

Now that I’m headed to my late 30’s I’m starting to notice a disparity in how people my age and above look. Some 40 year olds look the same age as me, and some of them look 20 years older than me.

I’m talking about profiles on here, rather than real life.

Do we all age at different rates? Or is it common for people to adjust their ages by big margins?

I can’t figure it out

I think a lot of folk on here knock a good few years off their profile.

I wouldn’t compare. Someone might look really fit for an 83 year old but in reality they’re only 25 and have had a hard paper round .

My barber was guessing my age a few weeks ago, I think he was looking for a tip as he put me mid/late thirties - it worked

.

I do think people can have physical markers of age faster than others, yes. Definitely. Some wrinkle or grey.

I don't buy in to the whole 'I look in my thirties when I'm in my fifties' thing though. No. They look their age. Not sure that makes sense.

Physiologically we do age at different rates, my GP told me that once.

Fabologically I think some people are using Martian years.

We do its in our genes, if we work outside, if we smoke, if we over eat all these things contribute to ageing at a more rapid rate

I think it's different for everyone. The things our lives throw at us has an impact too.

I have friends my age who look much younger than me and others who look older.

I guess it varies.

The way people dress and how they carry themes has an impact on how other people perceive their age.

People age at different rates. Fab really isn't a good arena to study it, as there are people who are very dishonest. I've seen people who must suffer from some rare, extremely damaging severe illnesses, based on their claims here. It's almost as if we attract the very unwell. Perhaps some health specialists in this field of ultra rare medical conditions, recommend fab to their clients?

Cliff Richard looks good for 92.

The secret is in the fact that he has not had sex since 1954.

Most people age through stress, lifestyle choices, genetics and a whole bunch of other factors.

For what it's worth I might be 46 but I still act as if I'm in my 20s!

Yes everyone ages differently, lifestyle and social systems have an impact.

I'm a smoker so I look 70 when I'm 38 (I think)

I look better now than I did in my 20's and 30's. I don't drink or smoke, so that helps with my skin looking OK. I have only just started going grey and the grey I do have looks like platinum streaks. People are always shocked when they find out I'm pushing 50 with a 30 year old son

Go to a club and try and guess ages.

9 times out of 10 you'll be wrong.

Neck, back of hands and tops of arms will tell you a lot about age.

Missin’ Yo’ Kissin’

If you look at peoples necks & hands - they are very good age markers. You can say well that person is in their 40-50's.

Lips & eyes.... Your thighs... I'm starting to sound like an Isley Brothers track now.

I've very proud of how I look for my age so I'm never going to amend it on here even if that puts me outside age filters.

I've been told that I could easily pass for someone in their 40s and I've never had anyone who didn't already know guess my actual age.

I've met people I went to school with and genuinely didn't recognise them because they looked like old men.

I've yet to meet anyone I've guessed their age wrongly by a decade or more. So although I think some people age better than others I don't think, I think there are enough markers that gives the game away so to speak.

I can only guess in decades now. I dread people asking me how old I think they are since my new neighbour who it turned out was 52 asked me and I guessed the same age as me

My dad looked old at my age. He had dentures and looked a good 15 years older. I suppose smoking 80 a day for 40 years probably didn't help.

I don't think I look old as such. Just lived in
