Lingerie problems!

So I’ve got a ton of really nice good quality lingerie - but need to / want to get rid of it. Partly because my shape has changed quite a bit the last year so doesn’t fit well, but also just because I need a fresh start mentally after a breakup.

What do you ladies do with your no longer wanted lingerie?

Obviously can’t give it to the charity shop(!) and not something to offer to a friend - but feel so wrong to just chuck it in the bin. Specifically as some of it hasn’t been worn, and non more than a couple of time.

Do I need to get over it and just bin it?? (And no don’t want to sell it to strangers over the internet thank you!)

I give mine to charity shops with the exception of knickers of course. Last year I donated some gorgeous stuff including a silk basque, they used it in their valentine's display

I'm in this situation too.

I keep thinking we need some kind of forum to be able to swap stuff with each other.

Manchester(ish).

You can recycle textiles in certain recycling places.

Put them in a black bag and no-one will be any the wiser.

If it's clean (and especially if it's not be worn at all) the chatiry shops will happily take it.

If you don't feel happy doing that, find a Salvation Army (or other charity) clothing bin. That way it's completely anonymous.

Womens refuges need underwear. Lots of people give clothes and think underwear isn't acceptable, but it is. I worked with a woman who walked out of her door with a child in one hand and a purse with £3 in the other. She said women often walk out with the clothes on their back, and need a change of underwear and clothes. A set of used but laundered underwear is gratefully accepted she said.

I have exactly this problem. I have a stupid amount of lingerie and recent weight loss has left me with about 2 black sacks full of plus size lingerie. I was thinking about offering it to ladies on here for free if they wanted to collect it but not sure if that would be allowed.

If there's no financial exchange or involvement either way then I personally think the site should allow it?

Failing that then a womens refuge centre or charity sounds the best idea.

I'm in the same boat I've put on a lot of weight and all my nice stuff doesn't fit although I'm holding onto it in the hope I'll shrink again however I think it's time to get rid.

You may have thought of this already, but you could see if there's a sex workers' collective or other support organisation in your area. I've heard of these operating lingerie exchanges, and maybe they'd appreciate a donation?
