Depends what you're buying (tool wise). I really like Einhell battery stuff or Hitachi for their lightweight and ergonomic. Mains I'd be wary of bosch and dewalt. Don't ever see what the extra few hundred is buying sometimes in some brands. Can be a minefield. Generally get what you pay for

Just bought a drill, rattle gun and battery charger for less than £20 (just got to wait for the batteries to come in). If they last half as long as my current drill, absolute bargain! (Heavy duty DIY use, not commercial)

Have been using a Lidl Parkside mini electric screwdriver for work for the last year- its fucking mega! £10, really torquey, great battery life- outscrewed the Bosch one in the workshops...

Keep your red and blues, i'm sticking to team budget for now

Been Makita for years but I used to buy different brands when corded as every brand does certain things better than others.

Now I'm all cordless I am Makita but have some Milwaukee kit as well .

As a tradesman you just want stuff that can withstand the abuse and not pack up.

My Milwaukee multi tool is crap tho.

I was converted to Milwaukee a few years ago and the power delivery and control is better than Makita.

I just need to see if they last as long as Makita, but at rhe minute they are worth the extra cost (not that I have paid for any ofmy tools)

I’ve been running Dewalt tools for over 20 years, the reliability is fantastic and it d never waiver.

I’ve tried the other brands that friends and colleagues have had and never really felt any difference in quality or performance.

I invested in the stihl type battery cut off saw last year and I’m still impressed with its performance every single time I get it out and pull the trigger, the instant power is such a novelty after starting petrol saws for so many years.

I still have some 3amp batteries from the first impact driver I bought that must be 20years old and still holds a good charge.

I will give it to makita though… their radios always sound better than my Dewalt which is annoying.
