The turkey was brined and cooked in November, before being carved and frozen in portions for Christmas dinner and beyond.

Put the copious stock into ice-cube bags for freezing and easy storage, so blocks of it can be used for the gravy. It just the stress out of the cooking side of things.

Christmas cake finished. Presents wrapped. Decorating was done at end of November.

Only really a case of hubby making up his family's traditional bacon-wrapped sausage-meat stuffing loaf, but that will be done on Saturday and kept in the fridge until cooking.

So, yes - pretty organised.

(In case you are wondering, my father was an army Drill-Sergeant...)

Almost all the presents have arrived - wrap on Christmas Eve. I'll do my food shop on Thursday; make the ham on Saturday and the trifle on Sunday. Christmas dinner is roast duck, with veg and ham. Trifle for dessert. That's mostly cooked on Christmas day. And it's job done. It's all looking good.

The only downside to being already is not eating the Christmas chocolates before the day.

Just finished the last of it.

For us our Christmas is tomorrow which is the original norse pagen festival on winter solstice which was hijacked by the Christians!

Not many are aware that the twelve days of Christmas are from tomorrow until new year's day. Nothing to do with the 25th!

To the extent I celebrate Christmas, it's as a holdover from my Christian upbringing.

Three presents left to wrap.

Too many to tie ribbons and affix bows to.

Christmas Eve dinner to be made. I don’t have a bloody idea how I’m going to manage sorting it all and not serving half cold food.

Cakes to be baked.

House needs tidying.

I’m at the point where I’m halfway regretting hosting people at mine but too late to pull out.
