A few hours before she passed away in ICU in September 2000. I was the last member of our family to visit her. She thought she'd be going home the next day.

I spoke to her the day she died, I was privileged to sit with her on that last journey.

I talk to her in my head every day and weirdly we get along much better

My boudoir - S Wales

Sorry to hear this OP

I’m in the same boat as you. This time of year is hard so keep your chin up and know you’re not alone.

xXx

The last thing I did was sing my mums favourite song to her. It was a very special moment that I’ll always cherish. Bitter sweet as it is. X

I'm so lucky that both my parents are alive and well.

I last spoke to my mum last Wednesday and will be visiting for a chat and a cuppa tonight.

Last spoke to my mum on the 10th December 2007. She passed away unexpectedly in the early hours on the 11th. Funeral was on the 21st December and now I really do despise this time of year.

It makes no difference how much time has passed since losing a mother, I lost the most important person in my life and it broke me, you accept it but never really get over the loss x

Much love to those who have lost someone special xxx

November 2nd 2022 and that's the day I cut her from my life.

I had a friend who would say "always love your mother as you'll never get another" but not all mothers are worthy of the title.

I last spoke to her Christmas day 2022 and she died a few days later. I kept trying to ring but she was too sick to answer her mobile. She spent most of December alone in hospital with nobody allowed to visit her due to Covid restrictions. I had to watch her die over a screen. We didn't have the best relationship but she was still my mum and I loved her. I hate knowing she had such a lonely ending.

If you're lucky enough to have family around and you have a good relationship, make the most out of it.

Last time was a month ago and I nearly bit my tongue off trying not to react to her vileness. She's not a very nice person so I keep away as much as I can.

A few hours ago and most days. As a working single parent with sometimes shifts at awkward times I really couldn't do it without my mum's help. I mean where do you get child care a 4am in the morning? She really did come to the rescue of me and kids. I am forever grateful to have such an amazing Mum.

Lost mine middle of covid. She'd had dementia for a couple of years before so it felt like I lost her twice

I'd call her daily. And I still want to speak to her every day,

Little things like the weather, when I'd get a squirrel or hedgehog on the garden.

I miss just having someone that's always on the end of the line

Both of us have lost our parents. My mum December 2002 and my dad December 2019, we miss them both so much. I know not everyone has a good relationship with their parents but me and the wife had a great relationship with both sets of parents.

I always looked up to my mum as my dad had left us at a early stage in my life was about 10 then

I remember when I started my first job at coal mine she always made sure I got up for my shift work

Was always there for me no matter what I went through the years

As I read some of the comments on here it shows some really miss there's and Dad's

At this time of the year it's very hard not to

November 2016 when she was attached to a ventilator, she was scared and telling me she wanted to go home. I held her hand and just kept reassuring her, talking to her, she fell asleep before slipping into unconsciousness. They turned her ventilator off 2 days later

""always love your mother as you'll never get another" but not all mothers are worthy of the title. "

^ I agree - this applied to my bio mother (now gone).

My stepmum however, hasn't really been a mum to me neither and consistently drinks her life away whilst I last saw and spoke to my wonderful dad 4th October 2016.

Likewise, 2002, Mum was the age i am now (46). But her presence can still be felt and seen on the faces of my daughters.

I know this is gonna sound wrong,,,,,,,,,

BUT..........

It is so refreshing to see others who do not like their mums as much as me.

I last spoke to my biological mother 5 years before she died.

Now, 15 years after her passing, I no longer hate her. I more pity her and feel sorry for the woman who lost her only son due to not being able to love him properly and knowing the fact that she died a very lonely woman.

Then I have a evil step mother who unfortunately is still alive who is the most vile, selfish, covert narcissist going. who did everything in her power to make anyone and everyone she knew hate me with utter lies. the only reason I have not gone down for murder is because I have two half sisters who, even though we do not talk, I do actually love more then I hate her. So for their sake. I just have no contact with the vile bitch.

but such is life. Luckily for me. I have had women in my life who proved to me not all women are nasty (ie my biological aunt, and no biological mum/nanny and friends mums) who proved to me I was just unlucky with my mum/stepmum/ as these other women have been inspirational in my life and shown me how wonderful real mums are.
