So we've had our ultimate Bands in the thread "One Night Only" and best Lead Guitarists.

However, as a bass player, I take my queues from the guy that's usually hidden behind a shed load of gear. The un sung hero of any group.

The Drummer.

My daughter sent me a link on YouTube where Chad Smith plays blind to a track by 30 Seconds to Mars called The Kill. The guy is amazing.

Chad is the Tub Thumper from The Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

It's made me re assess who the best Drummers are.

So this one's simple.

Who do YOU rate as the GOAT of Tub Thumpers...

I'm gonna stick with my original thought of Ginger Baker, but god dammit, Chad is really good.

An amazing drummer. Rush were one of the bands I admired as a youth. But then a was told about a guy called Eric Delaney.

The stage wasn't big enough for his drum kit so he took his drums to ballroom floors. Over 30 drums being played...

But soooo old school....

Max Weinberg of the E Street Band is a powerhouse

Always liked Matt Sorum, never liked Lars Ulrich but, apart from St Anger, he does a great job.

But Tommy Lee, who i saw play with his band Methods of Mayhem, the drum solo blew me away!
