Age preference excluding younger men

I’ve noticed quite a few people have their age preference to exclude “younger” men, is there any reason why? I’m curious but respect people’s personal preferences, I’m not trying to persuade anyone

I can only speak for myself. I have a son in his thirties and a son in law in his mid thirties. It wouldn't feel right to me. Add to that I find it very hard to believe a man 40 years younger than me would genuinely find me attractive.

It's not personal

I got told I need a cougar a few days ago, by a woman who was older than me.

She wasn't being persuasive either. I asked if she was being suggestive - she said no she'd tear me to shreds.

Careful what you wish for.

Never been attracted to younger, even as a teen I went for much older

But specifically, if I'm old enough to be their mother it is a no to even flirty chat.

Well I can’t if they have messages blocked due to the preferences, and besides that’s why I have asked on here for people to share

Hmmmm a few reasons.. My son and his friends are young men. It's hard to remove myself from that. I feel like a mum figure.. It's not a sexy thought.

Young men who fancy older women are possibly fetishising them.. I don't want to be a bucket list tick off or a fetish. Attraction is more sexy when it's authentic rather than fantasy.

Connection.. I find experience, maturity, wisdom comes with age. Better communication.

I know some young men are wise beautiful souls. I would consider younger in an organic situation but on here I need to keep my filters tight. My inbox is full enough!!!

Because it’s their preference they don’t need any more of a reason than that.

My oldest son is 21. To me he is a child. I therefore see all men in their 20s as 'children' to me....and to be fair many act it. I've always had a preference for older men but now I'm getting old I don't mind a slight bit younger but 30 is my cut off

For the same reason that younger people (myself included) will exclude old people. It just feels weird shagging someone the same age as my parents and even grandparents, I imagine its the same with the roles reversed. My parents are in their early 40s. It's why when people msg me or approach me in clubs and stuff, if they're late 30s/early 40s then I just tell them that they're older than my mum and it usually sends them away pretty quickly. I make sure to do it in a higher pitched tone aswell to reallllly set in the cringe factor.

I have an internal ick below a certain age. Like, that person is too child like, child is inappropriate category for that stuff, brain refuses to consider in that category.

So I set a hard lower limit because... I know that young adults are still adults, I know it's irrational, but my brain still goes ick.

My age filters have quite a big gap.

I judge my choices on more than merely age.

I wouldn't want to meet someone my son's age etc though so I get why others would filter those ages out.

My children are still quite young, still teenagers, one not even there yet, so I don’t have the problem mentioned so much on this thread… dunno, ask me in 7-10 years?

I think it’s just a matter of preference. Older men do nothing for me….

Yes. Most people over a certain age have grown up children that may be of a similar age to you and so it just doesn't sit right with them.

You have to respect peoples preferences

Wow, that did not sound like the affable Mr Pickle who used to be on the site.

Not sure any of the 'older women' made comments that would render them 'unattractive', most of the comments were honest answers about preferences based on how old their kids were.
