I feel curvy has been stretched in definition for ages but that’s not exclusive to Fab. I feel it’s largely as a result of body positivity. It’s become a catch all adjective for a variety of body shapes and sizes.

I think it's best to respect whatever the person writing the profile prefers - the same word can have positive or negative connotations, it's usually quite clear from the context though.

It’s doesn’t take much to figure out if somebody is more a size 10 than a size 24 from pics and profile. Quite a few ladies just say dress size in profile to avoid confusion. Not sure Fab should get involved in that one.

We go by photos. I describe myself as 'fabulous 'it's meaningless really in terms of body type but a picture paints a thousand words

When I do advertise, I don’t pretend to live in somewhere called “Schitts Creek”.

I mean, my BMI says I'm obese, my dress size says differently, weirdly actually, people are often surprised by what my dress size is too... so I'd probably say "curvy" is a decent meet in the middle moment.

BMI isn't exactly accurate at determining anything about someone's body so it'd probably be best not to use it.

I made no suggestion about how you should advertise your location. Most sensible people use their nearest towns or cities.

Mine says curvy as some would describe me as such, some would describe me as fat and some describe me as thick ha.

I have photos and my dress size on my profile. People can make their own judgement.

It is a very subjective thing like most things and everyone will use the term differently. I don't see a problem with that.

Curvy spans all BMIs and weight ranges. Skinny women saying they curvy, morbidly obese saying too.

Words are cheap, ask for pics and go from there so there’s no confusion

My BMI says obese. My latest pics are mostly taken this past week. I’m overweight but I wouldn’t say obese. Also someone mentioned dress size. That means nothing. Someone who is 4ft 8 and a size 16 is going to look totally different to someone who is 5ft 11 and a size 16. I’ve always gone by the pics, I rarely even look at what people have put as body type.

People who lose it because of delayed replies are a complete subset of Fab I block immediately.

Well it was a bit pushy and entitled phrased like that especially the shouty/angry ! at the end. She could have been busy with other messages or just other things in life. This is why luckily there is not a real time chat function here and why people are reluctant to take chats offline to chat apps.

Perhaps you could have said.

"Guess you are busy now but look forward to chatting more when you have time x" A little kiss works better than a shouty exclamation mark

I once chatted to the guy to the point of arranging a social. He told me he was quite short. Fine, doesn’t bother me, thanks for the honestly. Then he asked my dress size (after he had seen my pics). When I told him he literally said ‘I like curvy women but not that big, don’t want to meet!’ To piss him off I sent a super sexy pic of me. His comeback - oh yeah definitely like that, let’s meet. You can imagine what I told him to do…

It's overused on the forum maybe (everyone has curves I say!) but profiles are just profiles of course and they can feel samey sometimes for sure. But the closer to what they want them to be, maybe the better for us all at the end of the day.

The pictures ought to tell you the story on that front really, if they (or at least one or two) are simple and reliable enough. You can never know what people are fully like in the physical sense until you finally meet them though I think.
