"Jam first "

I'm with this. It seems wrong to put the cream on first

Jam first cream on top. Then devour it

Covent Garden

Cream first because it's delightfully thick and viscous, and it stays on the Scone. The jam, because of its weaker consistency, slivers perfectly atop the cream.

Jam on one half

Jam first then cream. Just seems more sensible this way to me. It is the cornish way btw. The other way around is the Devon way

The question needs to be "Toasted or not?"

In fact.

Throw the scones away, they taste like stale lumps of stodge anyway.

Put the cream and jam into a donut or a cake instead.

Cheese scone only.

No cream or jam. It's like pineapple on pizza.

You technically don’t…..

You technically spread one, then put the other on top as a “dollop”…

Neither. Just butter. Jam is ick and I have lactose intolerance (butter is low lactose and can be tolerated in small amounts).

Rock cake involves egg mixed in to the dry ingredients.
