The fragrant Laurence Fox. Anyone a fan?

He went on GB news yesterday and had his say about journo Ava Evan to the equally fragrant Wootton. Wootton is now suspended.

Here's the story with interview https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/breaking-laurence-fox-updates-live-31039417

The reason why he went on a rant is because Evans was very dismissive of a Minster for Men. I've read that she was dismissive of men's suicide as well but I cannot find those remarks.

Something like that.

Absolutely no excuse for the stuff fox said, and Wootton sat there laughing while he said it.

Smirking in only the way Wootton can.

What I don't understand is why he's suspended for ..what letting Fox rant or laughing at it. But not suspended for the rest of the stuff he's been alleged to do.

Well apparently Wooton did a grovelling apology only for Fox to share a text message that Fox sent to Wooton in which Wooton sort of acknowledges that he found the whole thing funny.

So I think Fox thinks if he’s going down then he’s taking Wooton down with him.

That’s according to his X account anyways.

Not a fan of either of them to be honest, but I did enjoy Fox in his acting days.

I,ve met him through my work & 3 years ago he was sane & had some really valid points but I,m aware of his love of a certain rolled cigarette & its fuddled his brain in a big way.

Ultimately he's so angry & bitter about his career being cancelled he's in a Spiral of self destruction.

I think it's sad and his view on question time was as valid as anyone's but appreciate some people enjoy his suffering.

Ava actually apologised for the way it came across because it could have been perceived as belittling men’s mental health…

But lozza basically blowing up GBnews from the inside and throwing dan wootton under the bus for good measure is epic

The fact that the producers knew what fox was roughing going to say because of the pre show interview makes the whole thing look like an even bigger shitshow!

He was laughing along with it, said nothing to push back, and only dawned on him afterwards that he should have said something.

They were probably looking for an excuse to suspend him and he gave them an easy option.

Bit of a liability. He came across as very weak, he would have known what to expect from Fox and just sat there giggling.

Yes, complete shambles, and done to generate publicity for Fox. Let’s be honest, about 4 people would have seen the original footage but now millions have seen the shitstorm.

Wootton actually tried to "counter" Fox's horrific comments with "actually, she is quite attractive/pretty, Laurence" or words to that effect. Which really didn't help at all.

Absolutely abhorrent comments and behaviour from everyone's favourite news channel for dingbats.

Fox then tweeted “are you sure about that?” And the came with receipts showing the conversation between himself and the wootton show producers showing the pre interview notes so wootton would have been aware of what was coming…. Fox basically showed up wootton….

For me it’s them and other popular male figures that pit men against women that dare to have opinions. They go around commentating on women like sexual objects (‘who’d want to shag *that*?’) and call them ‘pathetic’ and feminist 4.0s. They all play into the rising amounts of young men being radicalised online and the violence that women face as a result of that. We cannot pretend that these commentators say things that are put out online and it doesn’t impact our influence anyone. Their words are dangerous. In this case it is yet to be confirmed but in general the consequences of this brand of women hating is femicide.

The viewing figures are very poor. You’re trying to say they’re doing well for a new poorly funded channel, which is just a set of excuses. And it’s not “brand new” . The viewing figures are very poor . If the figures were strong I would have no problem saying so, and I have no idea why you would suggest otherwise .

Absolutely abhorrent comments and behaviour from everyone's favourite news channel for dingbats.

Oh god he did. Urgh. Because the only value of a woman is whether she's pretty and/or worth banging! "

Unless it’s the Daily Mail harping on about braless women. They’re / it’s obsessed

"A teenage girl has been murdered in Croydon and I feel as though the people like that Fox man going on these pathetic rants are partly to blame.

In what way?

For me it’s them and other popular male figures that pit men against women that dare to have opinions. They go around commentating on women like sexual objects (‘who’d want to shag *that*?’) and call them ‘pathetic’ and feminist 4.0s. They all play into the rising amounts of young men being radicalised online and the violence that women face as a result of that. We cannot pretend that these commentators say things that are put out online and it doesn’t impact our influence anyone. Their words are dangerous. In this case it is yet to be confirmed but in general the consequences of this brand of women hating is femicide. "

What's happened in Croydon is horrific.

I don't think someone like Fox should be stopped from speaking. I don't like what he says, but I am for free speech. What I'd have liked to see is him challenged. Especially by another man. Someone saying - do you realise you're judging a woman solely on whether she's worth shagging. We can never shut down men saying this crap. But other men challenging it - young men need to see that. That's powerful.

Just saw news night and one of the commentators, suggested that even though the event on wontons show wasn't staged it still seems there is more going on.

Apparently the boss of GBnews is in negotiations to buy a national newspaper, which if successful would be linked with GBNews, this would make the channel more viable, and secure advertising rights which would be linked from the paper to the channel.

The interesting thing is GBnews has tories as presenters , and the commentator suggests that when the tories are out of power they will gather round this channel to spout the kind of rhetoric, they spew now, and to also attack the government who takes power.

One has to watch it to debate it.

And what is happening now (sitting M.P's on T.V giving opinions), is against the rules apparently but still it goes on, which shows OFCOM as weak and not fit for their purpose.

When the tories lose they should be in opposition As that's how it has always been, but they will have a whole news channel to use against the new government.

It shouldn't be allowed but as OFCOM is weak it will continue any way.

Now this AND now suspended after Fox threw him under the bus. If you heard bbc radio 4 close down S MP yesterday, strongly suggest Wooton got an injunction after the allegations in Byline went public. Fox is a slimy, hating, right wing, prick of the worst order, why nobody in real show business will hire the creepy c#nt!

Thought I'd post what Ava Evans/Santini said that riled Laurence Fox.

"During a recent sit down on Politics Live, Ava discussed male mental health.

She said: ‘I feel like it feeds into the culture a little bit, this “minister for men” argument.

‘In my mind there should be a minister for mental health which should be all encompassing. I mean you’ve got 7million children waiting for prescriptions for mental health.

‘It’s a crisis that’s endemic throughout the country not specific to men and I think a lot of ministers come and bandy this about to sort of make an enemy out of women."

I'd agree. There is a Minster for Women (Badenoch) after all. And men's mental health in particular is a big issue. She backtracked a little. But instead of critiquing what she said and raising awareness of the proposal for a Minister for Men - he went after her shaggability.

My view re “mission accomplished” is that it was fox’s mission … started out as a piece that very few people watched, but millions are now aware of the shitstorm, and he has accomplished his mission by getting his name in headlines.

In 2019 Jo Brand joked about throwing acid over Nigel Farage on the BBC - No further action.

In 2020 Sophie Dukes joked about killing white people on Frankie Boyle's New World Order - No further action.

In 2020 Miriam Margolyes said she wanted Boris Johnson to die on live TV while he was seriously ill with COVID - No further action.

Did the same people calling for GB News to be shut down call for the BBC and Channel 4 to be shut down?

Of course they didn't. The double standards are utterly staggering.

None of the people mention there are newscasters.

None of the quotes are from the lady involved in this case.

And still you offer no explanation for how this is a left wing stitch-up

The girls works for the extreme left wing joe.

It’s a stitch by the far left on GBNews and Fox.

For saying a few words ( they she also said )they want it shut down

For wanting acid thrown in an MEP’s face. Fine.

The left have been trying to close em since it started.

Vorderman is leaving the campaign leaving links to ofcom and encouraging people to report GBNews for no other reason than to close em.

Actually, there was quite a lot of action regarding Jo Brand’s comment… including a police investigation if I remember things correctly.

Remember that her comments were made as part of a comedy panel show, where her comments could reasonably be taken in the spirit and context of the program.

The comments from LF were a direct personal attack on the journalist in an attempt to discredit her, and her argument/ opinions.

I have seen this lady before she is part of politicsJoe, if you are not aware, politicsJoe has a good following on YouTube and as such the commentators have been invited on to programmes such as daily politics, also niveraMedia another popular channel who gives a different perspective.

They are invited on as many people watch their channel, hence they have influence and rightly so invited into the debate.

To say such things about this lady is wrong and invites regulation by the powers that be, it would be wrong to ban GBnews as that puts freespeach at risk, by our own self censorship.

But to remove wotton and fox from broadcasting, is a further risk as they would just go to YouTube or rumble to spout their views.

So rock or a hard place I know neither which, all I know is freespeach should be protected at all costs.

Just one more thing I learned Wotton was the journalist who broke the heard Depp story.

I understand your view and you are entitled to it imo.

My view is neither left or right I do not care, I admire that a YouTube channel is popular enough to be invited into the overall debate, that's what I care about.

Freespeach is for all Wotton and Fox are entitled to give their view as is those who oppose that view.

It seems to me those that those who oppose the view are many, and that's what makes freespeach great it is the sheer numbers opposing those two men that makes their view wrong. imo

The truth is in the numbers So it is said.

I don't like Fox ,he never has a nice word to say about anyone and comes across as v bitter.Only the other day he was spouting about Rashford having the audacity to have a nice expensive car, despite all the work he does for charity and in the community.

Wootton apparently expressed regret about the incident yesterday ,but then Fox tweeted texts between the two of them laughing about it ,so that hasn't helped either of their causes.

I can't find the original tweets and replies so it's really hard to see what she's responding to when she says "I'm not going to shag you, mate". I should have done this at the start. This is what Fox said about Ava Evans/Santina.

"We're past the watershed so I can say this… show me a single, self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman… ever… ever.

"That little woman has been fed... spoon-fed oppression day after day after day, starting with the lie about the gender pay gap.

"She's sat there, and I'm going like, if I met you at a bar and that was like sentence three, chances of me just walking away are just huge.

"We need powerful, strong, amazing women who make great points for themselves. We don't need these feminist 4.0. They're pathetic and embarrassing.

"Who'd want to shag that?"

What mission is that then? You think she got fox to say nasty things about her to boost her profile? If not, what exactly are you suggesting?

My view re “mission accomplished” is that it was fox’s mission … started out as a piece that very few people watched, but millions are now aware of the shitstorm, and he has accomplished his mission by getting his name in headlines.

I’m loving how the GBNews defenders see this as an attack on their beloved news outlet. It’s not, despite how questionable that news outlet is. It’s about the comments Lawrence Fox made during his attack on the female journalist.

We enjoy free speech in the UK and I’m one of many who will do anything to uphold that. Freedom of speech is not freedom of consequence, as both Fox and Wooton are discovering.

He is not in difficulty because he challenged her opinion or her political views. He is in difficulty because he reduced his opposition to her down to her “shagability” in a blatant misogynistic attack. He deserves all he’s getting, and the sooner his attitude and opinion of women’s value being based on their attractiveness are eradicated from society the better we all will be.

Not really, no.

But that’s what the likes of fox like to pretend is happening … they behave appallingly, face some sort of censure and then claim that this is because government / big tech / legacy press etc are afraid of their “independent” views.

It’s an overused set of tactics, completely see-through except for the sheep that follow them unquestioningly.

It’s all in the Agitator’s handbook

For wanting acid thrown in an MEP’s face. Fine.

Repeatedly saying it is a stitch-up doesn’t explain why you feel that to be the case.

The lads said what they did freely, and broadcast it. She wasn’t even in the room.

Neither were they when she tweeted she wouldn’t shag him on numerous occasions.

Could you point to those tweets please?

If it’s allowed

Not sure if X links are tbh. If it counts as a news site, sure. I can't find the original tweets and replies so it's really hard to see what she's responding to when she says "I'm not going to shag you, mate". I didn't know anything about this woman before the incident with Fox. She does seem to make some statements that veer towards misandry. Don't think I like her anymore than Fox!"

And here lies the problem. The hysterical screaming left wing have shut him down when this seems just a left and right tit for tat.

"Looks like the Daily Mail have now suspended Dan Wootton’s column - what a bunch of woke leftists! "

I thought he got suspended when the other claims came out

The woeful thing is if he was so incensed by what she said/did, then Fox had the perfect moment to highlight that in a dignified manner that would have highlighted the cause and shown how unpleasant her comments were.

Instead he has pissed all over that and has just shown himself up for what he is. A limelight grabbing plonker.

It’s his kids I feel sorry for. They must get shedloads of stick from people based on what guff he spouts.

It really isn’t. Have you watched the footage of the 2 lads? Do you think that’s ok for a news channel?

Every newspaper has come down hard on fox. You reckon the entire “msm” press are “screaming left wing”?

… but he wouldn’t have for any attention for a calm well-reasoned response …

Correct, they’ve now sacked him, those pesky woke lefties! Credible allegations of him being a sexual predator weren’t enough to encourage the Mail to do the decent thing, they were hoping to wait until the fuss died down.
