that's hilarious. It's good money when you have your own company to be fair.

Subcontractors average £150 a day where as bricklayers can easy earn £200.

At least I can say I enjoy my job

My husband and I run our own business. If we had to calculate an hourly rate for ourselves we would be into minus figures. We will however hopefully reap the rewards when we retire, fingers crossed!

Mr is a roofer and the mrs works in a nursing home.

We get by,as long as our our offspring and their kids are looked after then we are happy.

Retail so the money is poor. No real perks and management are shite. It's not enough to pay the Bill's or have any form of luxuries. So much so, I've had to take an extra job on my day off! But I have self respect and refuse to take handouts. I work bloody hard to give my kids a good work ethic and it's worked for my eldest, shes doing well for herself.

I have 2 degrees and 2 diplomas and 25 years experience in early Years education with extensive knowledge of child development and child psycholog and part of the senior team in a day Nursery.

My wage is good considering how bad the wages are in the sector overall.

My Nursery is owned by the local college so we get the same privileges and benefits as the college staff
