Heart problems

Hi guys.

I havent been on forums for months as I had a big heart attack 4 months ago and had stent in arm but how does anyone come back to this because I still want to meet but have no energy..

Any advice on this please ..

Listen to all advice that your doctors give you, eat healthy, exercise, and be a little patient. You most certainly CAN recover, and even be stronger than before.

Blimey, good news that you came out the other side of that ordeal.

As far as meeting goes, I’d suggest you briefly explain your limitations. Let potential playmates make an informed choice about meeting or not.

Speak to your Doctor if you can. I'm upfront with mine. It's nothing new to them. Make a list of questions. That is if you can get through to them on the phone after waiting 50 bloody minutes

I had a heart attack back when i was 32, was down to my lifestyle back then, needless to say i change all my ways and got myself fit and healthy, but you can still have a heart attack, so one would say, look at the possible causes and change them, slow and steady is the key.

Op I also had a slight heart attack a few years ago and have 3 stents fitted

One thing I remember is waking up in intensive care and the surgeon talking to me

His advise was to go out and live my best life and forget about everything else

I did a 12 week recovery fitness course in the hospital about 8 weeks after my op which helped

Does your local health clinic or hospital run one of these

Im an ex athlete who's lifestyle was very strict and an extremely healthy diet too so its still a shock..x

Scary, I thought I was having one, I was rushed in had the dye in my arm which hurt like he'll, after a week of tests they discovered when sleeping my heart rate was dropping down below 40bpm so fitted a pacemaker as an insurance policy, there was a lot going on at the time and they thought stress had played a big part. I was also pretty fit doing v lots of cycling

Unfortunately these things can happen to the fittest of people too...

A has a heart condition and leads a very active lifestyle. It's just a case of adapting to what you can do and building things up slowly.

If the hospital do cardiac rehabilitation that's usually a really good place to start. They should be able to teach you some really handy ways of increasing your physical output.

Best thing though is that your alive and kicking OP

Fully sympathetic to what has happened to you and glad you survived it. I also had a heart attack and a stent fitted, it’s a painful and stressful experience.

I must admit my energy levels reduced as well I don’t dress as much as I used to. But I do try and go out for walks (10k at least) and do other activities as well.

Good luck for the future and truly hope it never happens again.

I do walk my dog every day for 2 hours so I've built up my energy with a walking stick.x
