I lift heavy stuff, swear hard and repeat frequently.

Many people underestimate their ability to get fit, stay fit and be awesome, irrespective of their age.

I swim 3,4 times a week,IV been ill this week's so I've missed it,I love swimming it's keeping weight off me (at least 50 length per sesh) and the most important it's great for mental health.

If you struggle with anxiety or depression please try swimming to help you,I cant recommend it enough,I feel 10 times better after a session, sorry for the lecture

I cycle nine miles a day on my work commute, run twice a week, lift weights and have an allotment.

If you want some inspiration, look up yesterday's BBC news for North East Scotland. A fifty six year old has just finished his training as a new recruit in the fire service.

Walking my dog mostly, three times a day and it seems to be working. However, I don't think of myself as older (though others will) and unless I see a mirror I tend to think that I am my 28 year old former self (ok, sometimes I may think 42, but that is the answer to everything).

The body alone is a mass and you don't need extra weight to lift their is so many ways working around the body using different techniques that provides you the ultimate fitness which is inner strength

I can't for work as I'm too far away but I cycle a lot, I built my bike to be hard work so I don't have to be out for miles and miles, knobbly tyres so it adds resistance, panniers for wind drag and carry some weight in them, stay in harder gears, 10 miles and I've had enough. I try and get out once a week come rain, snow or shine plus I have a physical job.

Good luck and happy birthday for next week

Body posture, breathing and co ordination of movement. Strengthens muscles , spirituality etc ..

It's very similar to tai chi but it is 'on the spot' and gentle. Both meditative and energising.

Can be done on a chair if people need that.

I can't help with the lazy bit. I was always trying different things, mainly around dieting. Then I found a sport I love, and now it's part of my life and I love it. I can't make myself do an exercise i hate, like running.

Yoga is very good for all the things you mention.

Sorry but I do not recognise 56 as being old age, 65 is nearer the mark.

I am afraid am quite lazy, probably because the only sports I ever got involved were sitting down sports, i.e. Rowing and Car Rallying and various other branches of motorsport.

The onset of Artritis during my late 70s has restricted my mobility to such an extent that I now find it almost impossible to walk much more than a couple of hundred metres. I also have acquired a heart condition which also affects my mobility. my main aim is not keeping fit but staying alive, I do however eat sensibly, do not smoke, and consume not much alcohol.

I have set myself a target of living to be 100 which would the put me outside of all Fab members age parameters.

I discovered jogging during lockdown and it has been a revelation. For years I didn't try it because I thought I had 'dodgy knees' (i.e. injury prone), but after starting off with shorter distances and gradually building up, plus being strict on actually jogging regularly I went from being capable of only a few laps of the local park to regularly running 10k.

Totally agree with what Nicecouple561 said about resistance bands. They're great for building and maintaining muscle strength which in turn help ward off general middle aged aches and pains.

Also less booze helps!
