I wanted a natural burial. Now I want one of those no fuss cremations where there is no funeral service, they just drop your ashes back to loved ones.

I think leaving your body to science is the cheapest method, don't know if I would fancy it for my children though, don't know how they would react to that.

It's great that people have thought about this part of the human life cycle so much.

It's one thing we can be sure that will happen to us and that's why we should live in the moment as much as we can.

I did want to be left to medical science ( only to avoid funeral costs ) but it's not as easy as people think

Then I thought I'll get left out in a mountain top forest to decay naturally but that's pretty expensive too.

So ..... I paid a cremation firm already. I'm being cremated with NO service.

I've told everyone that if they want a gathering they can order one or do some reflecting individually.

I'm pretty relaxed about it, now it's all done and dusted.

Cremated, then the ashes burnt again in a wooden boat on the ocean to finally rest with the fishes.

They have to be able to teach with it (so needs to have various key features to permit that, no good if you're missing bits, for example) and it has to be safe, so no bloodborne diseases and various other things.

Medical students generally use the same body for a series of dissections over many weeks, looking at the different organ systems, so they need their corpse to have all of those systems pretty much intact.

Quite, what I meant was it's difficult here and expensive to organise.

That being said grandma might appreciate that. For mine, think she might have fancied the chance to run anywhere since it had been years, even if it was in a fox's mouth! She didn't care for shopping though, so that'd be a downer!

I'll be cremated.

I'll find out if my ashes can be buried with my mum, dad and twin sister. I think we just scattered them into a hole in the ground under a tree at the crematorium.

If not, my children can do what they want with them.

I don't want a gravestone that people feel obliged to visit.

We have plaques on a bench in my siblings garden for my parents and sister.

I always said buried, can't deal with the thought of cremation. But leaving body to science might be fun!

I quite like the idea of being put in a biodegradable sack and a tree planted in my remains. I shall become a mighty oak!

I would like to donate myself to medical science, or failing that I think I would probably make a fairly decent curry... so the nearest Indian can have me.

"The cheapest way possible. I’ll be dead, I’m not going to know either way.

This. Cal could bury me in the back garden for all I care, but suspect that would be illegal. "

It’s not. There’s no legal requirement to have a funeral, only that the body is disposed of appropriately. So, as long as Cal tells the authorities (and digs a deep enough hole), that’s you sorted

It's funny my best friend was always against cremation! But he decided to have that the last few months before he died. He he had cancer for over 2 years i guess sometimes we don't always know!

let's ope you don't die at Christmas or Easter then.

I recently perused their forms which a friend sent for and they seemed full of get out clauses. no guarantees for people like me who just want to cheat the funeral industry.

There was a big thing about your ashes being turned into a diamond

So I suggested to Katie that if I went before her

I’d like that to be done with my ashes

And then perhaps she could have it made into a clitty stud

That way I’d be in a very nice warm place!!!!

There are actually body farms that study decomposition that would happily take your body for this!

In all honesty they are swamped with donations, unless yiu are of interest they likely won't accept the body. Definitely needs a plan B

"Do you want to get buried, cremated or something else?

In an ideal world, I would get cremated and have diamonds made from my ashes.

But I am skint and probably wouldn't have anyone who would want them.

So its cremation and throw away the ashes for me
