As a smoker I could fully understand a non-smoker not liking to meet smokers. I also know a lot of non smokers who do meet smokers.

Personally if I meet non-smoker I tend not smoke around them out of respect.

So my question really is to the non-smokers is it crystal clear that you're not interesting to meet up with smokers or is this just more of a preference?

For me it’s a preference. As long as they don’t turn up stinking of fags or blowing it up my nose it’s not an absolute rule

Personally I don’t like kissing a smoker or the smell of it and no amount of aftershave can mask it either however on saying that, I have made exceptions when an unexpected spark has been there

It's the same with people who have hygiene problems.

I tend to stop smoking about a hour before brush my teeth and then eat mints.

Also helps I don't smoke in the house so my clothes don't smell of it.

Non-smoker here, but I've had a number of lovers who smoked when they came round which did not bother me (though my last one had given up smoking and she really strongly disliked being with anyone who smoked - the zealot)

Wherever I lay my hat

I smoked socially for years but categorically will not meet heavy smokers. I don't like the smell, the taste and the pallor of the skin.

And I can fully understand that people don't like the smell of smoke I can relate to that when it comes to alcohol and cheap perfume.

I don't mind people drinking alcohol but you know somebody's had too much when you can smell it and mile away.

Ex smoker here

Unless you come shower fresh with every item of clothing freshly laundered including boots and coat and have never smoked in your house or vehicle, you’ll smell of it. It’s in your hair, your nose, your shoe laces, semen, nails, skin, everything. Sorry if it bursts your bubble I’m super sensitive to it, more so since covid and it’s really noticeable to me when someone is a smoker. So for me, the No is a hard no.

Both being ex smokers it’s a very obvious and rather unpleasant odour that lingers so we’ll stick with the no rule.

I'd prefer not to meet smokers

Sadly people lie about it to get more meets and you can generally smell it on them.

It's always best to be honest like you have been ,it won't matter what to some people .

Absolute no for me. When a smoker breathes heavily (as often happens during sex) I can smell it. Even when I’ve not noticed it earlier in the night

Everybody has their reasons for why they are on this site however people within the site should be honest with each other.

Things like smoking drinking and sexuality you really can't hide or be dishonest when you're physically meet somebody.

They are called mouth breathers anybody who is constantly at their mouth usually gets out of breath and usually doesn't have the stamina.

As a smoker I don't smoke around those that don't, but I totally get people who won't meet, to be honest we stink whether we've had one just before a meet or 3 hours earlier, we still smell!

I generally vape if I'm meeting a none smoker although I doubt the smell goes.

If I like them then there’s always a possibility I would get past the fact they smoke. But for a quick meet or someone I hadn’t got to know well, then it’s a no.

Certainly on the dating apps I always go left if they smoke or vape.

Manchester (she/her)

It's written in stone for me, as large and robust as a mountain.

I have a severe physical reaction if you get up close, and it doesn't go away if you bathe/put on perfume/brush your teeth/ abstain for a day.

I have a different physical reaction to vapers, and the same mountain of no applies.

I don’t meet smokers because I don’t like the smell of their cigarettes lingering on me or my clothes.

I had enough of all that when I lived at home with my step-dad and my mum (until she gave up).

That said, my first serious boyfriend smoked and I used to find the smell of him smoking comforting.

Weird eh.
