Manchester (she/her)

Meditation and self compassion. It sounds wishy washy but it makes a big difference

absolutely no help whatsoever, because all i do is self destruct with self sabotaging behaviors.

so sorry OP. however i'm boosting your thread, in the hope it might help me, or someone else reading it (when the helpful replies come in, as the forum folks are good for this).

and to others reading this who might not be okay, you aren't alone Px

Gapping Fanny

Lego therapy.

It helps keep the brain active, creative, organised and distracted, allowed you to calm down.

Go out, shut the front door and take a walk together. You can talk about the stresses or not but sometimes just being out of the house and putting that physical distance in place helps put a psychological distance too.

Ive just learnt I have to let certain things go. Deep breaths and bugger off out for a walk or something and that usually clears my head and lets a solution appear or just the realisation that a thing needs accepting as is.

Don't bottle things up!! Talk to someone, write things down... CBT ( no not cock and bull torture lol) can give you useful skills for coping

As others have said, mindfulness, meditation and the outdoors..also anything relaxing from reading to listening to music helps..

Exercise if physically possible too. It can be difficult to initiate if you feel shit, but it's a virtuous circle after awhile

It depends on you as a person.

Mindfulness, meditation and CBT were a complete waste of time for me and just added to my stress levels as apparently they are supposed to be the go to solution for everything and I spent more time trying to work out so why they weren't helping me?

My stress and anxiety levels changed completely the day I decided to stop thinking or talking about things and actually get out and do something instead.

Walking, kayaking, cycling or anything that involves the outdoors works for me regardless of the weather.

Work related stress, get out, it's not worth it.

From the land of haribos.

I find that workout out with weights helps with it

For me exercise is key, eating well and resting well. Tiredness mimics anxiety and exacerbates symptoms of anxiety and stress.

Giving up caffeine made a huge difference, it's nasty and does us no good

Journaling, meditation, qi gong, walking in nature (particularly woods). Grounding will help, and ensure you’re taking a probiotic (gut health = brain health)
