"Her engagement in all of this isn't positive. I don't see why she is being praised for it. I've no interest in anyone's twitter spats. " Yeah, same here. And i think you mentioned it in another thread, but i sort of get the feeling it wasn't 'her' reply, (i could be wrong) Moreso the people running her twitter account. But, at least some good did come out of it. Even if it wasnt intended.

"You seem to be definitely out of touch. Greta has been in international press since she was a young teenager. Tate, has been heavily popular on social media for the past 12 months. Well its very possible I'm out of touch, as I usually don't watch a lot of television or follow people on social media who aren't occupying spaces I'm particularly interested in. That said I don't recall anyone in real life ever mentioning either of their names in general conversation. I do have friends & a job etc... " I haven't heard people in real life mention him either, only online.

"I don't care who runs her SM account, at the end of the day, a person who glorifies the objectivity of women has been put down in a tremendously quick witted way, twice in as many days, and has now been arrested for horrendous offences. Good job all round, I say! "

Also, the possibility of witness intimidation/evidence destruction if the suspects were bailed. Although i have no idea as to how convincing that argument has to be.

" One of the alleged complainants is American. I believe Tate holds a US passport. He might find himself subject to attempted extradition?" Good question. That would depend on where any alleged offence took place. If an offence was committed by a US Citizen, against another US Citizen in another country, im pretty sure the alleged crime/investigation would be the responsibility of that country.

He states the film was made with consent. I've read conflicting information about whether the woman in the video has explicitly stated there was consent. In any case, no criminal complaint was made by the woman in the video, so no criminal investigation was ever opened. This is manifestly different to the current situation.

However I rarely hear "but are they telling the truth?" around nonsexual crimes in the same way. Fear of being disbelieved is one of the biggest reasons why much sex crime is never reported, therefore not prosecuted. Police must lend credence to an accusation (i.e believe a crime may well have taken place) to arrest someone and question them. They must have a decent amount of evidence (in the UK at least) to justify holding someone beyond the usual period for initial questioning. I doubt very much that the Romanian police arrested him if they lacked suitable evidence that a crime is likely to have happened, nor would a judge authorise extended detention in the absence of evidence. Of course, his lawyer will contest the detention, because they'd be a shit lawyer who just said "yeah, keep my client as long as you like....."

I don't think the American woman who complained to the Romanian police thought it was consensual Time will tell whether shes telling the truth or not Why is it that accusations of crimes relating to the sexual assault of women, are seemingly more readily questioned in terms of truth, than other types of crime? An anecdotal observation... They're not. All crimes are treated in the same manner, innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As mentioned above, a similar accusation was made previously that turned out to be spurious. Further reminder if needed that we should always let the justice system to take its natural course before jumping to any conclusions The previous "accusation" was that a film surfaced while Tate was in the Big Brother house, which showed him hitting a woman with a belt and telling her to count the bruises. He states the film was made with consent. I've read conflicting information about whether the woman in the video has explicitly stated there was consent. In any case, no criminal complaint was made by the woman in the video, so no criminal investigation was ever opened. This is manifestly different to the current situation. Im sure it is. But the point being is that the system should be allowed to run its course before making assumptions Indeed. Of course, his lawyer will contest the detention, because they'd be a shit lawyer who just said "yeah, keep my client as long as you like....." Im not quite sure what youre trying to achieve...would you rather non sexual crimes were also views in the shoddy manner you believe sexual crimes are, just to balance it out? No. I'd rather people stopped openly questioning the authenticity of people reporting sex crimes. If your neighbour came and told you they'd been burgled, would you say "yeah, but have you REALLY been burgled? Are you sure? Might you have accidentally chucked all of your valuables in the bin? Could your kids have sold your worldly goods on eBay? Come on now, Jeff!!! Tell me the truth!!" Probably not. But this is what happens when people say they have been sexually assaulted. Their report of a crime occuring is openly questioned, sometimes to the point of complete unwillingness to accept there's even a small chance something bad happened. We should treat all accusations of crime the way you'd likely respond to Jeff after the break in. "Bloody hell, I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you - have you told the police? Would you like to use my phone/would you like a lift to the police station. Are you okay? Etc" Fine. Do that absolutely. But never forget that the accused is innocent until proven guilty also" On the point discussed immediately above... It seems to me that no one has questioned the reliability or honesty of people who make accusations about coercion into sex more than they do with non sexual crimes. It seems to me that some err with caution until verdicts are reached that are upheld with solid evidence and some don't. Since it was announced that he had been taken into custody pending investigation people have read and quoted what hasn't happened and seem quite okay with continually repeating it as truth and embedding it into the psyche of those without the ability to read for clarity or check facts. Very rarely are people arrested for nothing but i'm happy to wait. The cynic in me says he'll be done for money laundering if they can gather the evidence in 30 days and make it stick. Authorities are always more interested in money crime than people crime - especially crime against women. The sex trafficking accusations will be a smoke screen to get into his house and accounts...... I realise this is speculation and i'll be first to put my hands up high if the sex charges stick. Either way ....... I can wait.

"Her parents run her twitter account... She must be the only 19 year old in the world to allow their parents to run their social media Hardly Not many 19yr olds like her are there. She's very autistic, I doubt she or others like her have such insightful and mature wit, straight of the bat Wow, that's some sweeping generalisations right there. There are plenty of examples of people who are on the spectrum who are insightful and funny - Dan Akroyd and Anthony Hopkins straight off the top of my head. Most people who are passionate and single minded are on the spectrum. Having spoken to her in person (due to my job) that is very much what she is like, genuinely funny, suppose it's easier to develop that kind of personality when so many idiots hate you. I very much doubt anyone hates her. I would imagine most people just think shes a mouthpiece to be ridiculed and then ignored " To a Tate supporter like you, maybe. To a lot of others, including the younger generation, she's a standard bearer for trying to face climate change

"Tate has had his court date today… being held on suspicion of human trafficking and being part of a criminal organisation (money laundering) …. This clearly hasnt yet happened but many are happy to run with it due to their own frothing hatred

Ask anybody in a pub or your work place and say What do you think of Andrew Tate . And you’ll get a gaggle of comments . " Really? I (Mr) have heard both names but as much as I know is Greta is a climate change activist and Tate is controversial. Beyond that I have no opinion on either of them. I know nothing about them nor have I any interest in them.
