Ironically last night I was abused because my lights were to bright. Cyclists can't win, some people will just moan about us regardless of what we do

OP, you don't need to single out cyclists, there are plenty of dangerous road users, day or night; truck drivers, tractor drivers, horse riders, pedestrians, car drivers, coach drivers, scooter riders...

I see loads of cars with no lights or partial lights. Bit more dangerous.

Yep cars too. Especially (am I the only one to notice) the increase in cars and vans driving around with only one headlight working?

Can't remember the last time I saw a horse rider out at night though.

It's not easy being a cyclist.

If you're out the way of the motorists, on a pavement, the pedestrians don't like it.

If you're on a trail, the dog walkers act as if you've got designs to run over their pets.

Go on the road and motorists resent you for holding them up for 20 seconds whilst they wait to get by you.

Someone sees a cyclist jump a light in 2007 and still use it as a stick to beat all cyclists with in 2022.

What gets me is the ones on the electric bikes that are as fast as a moped and they're unlicensed and don't have to wear crash helmets. Riding a motorcycle myself it just seems so wrong that they can get away with it.

And there also illegal. And get seized. Obviously if the Tories hadn't cut numbers by 20000+ probably more of them would be seized

Can we just accept that humans are a pain in the butt, irrespective of their chosen mode of transport…

There are hundreds of them flying around in my area every fast food joint has half a dozen of them delivering food all times day or night it's not hard for the cops to miss them.

I have said those repeatedly. It's not yhr mode of transport that's the issue. Some people are just dickheads.

Then right to your local chief constable or MP and ask them why they aren't dealing with it?

We all know it's a problem and we all know it's delivery drivers.

But much like a myriad of motoring offenses the police don't have the resources to do much about it

I think you're confusing cyclists with people on bikes.. there is a difference.

According to the local police, many of the youths we see riding about in the dark are "up to no good", often making "deliveries". In addition to their dark clothing, they will usually wear a scarf around their face o so they can't be identified.

They are not limited to cycles either, electric scooters are another popular method of transport, as are trashed motorbikes.

Well no. Don't need to go back to 2007. The one who nearly knocked me over on the High Street footpath today is enough or the one completely in black with no lights riding against the traffic in the dark last night. The fact other road users break the law too doesn't make it suddenly OK.

I could probably liatva dozen idiot motorists every time I ride ny bike even just for an hour. From the inconsiderate to the dangerous to the life threatening.

Thing is there's 100 other motorists that aren't like thst.

Yet to some, it's obvious all cyclists are bad based on a minority
