Sigur ros best band. By a very, very large margin.

Worst band probably Muse. Absolutely terrible band anyway, but live they were just the pits.

Beat solo artist Elton John, or James Brown, who was supporting the RHCP.

I also really want to see Joy Crookes.

Love these threads. And as someone already said... Memory plays tricks and so many to choose from... And I think the venue has a big part to play too...

For me what makes them memory is the crackling energy in the crowd.

The jam at the rainbow

Motorhead at fryers

Generation x at Wycombe Town hall

Nine below zero at the marquee

But more recently

Miles kane at the Birmingham. Institute was just outstanding

NIN and Rammstein (Muse close 3rd) are the best gig experiences for energy and light show.

I've seen hundreds of bands, and the one that stands out as the best wasn't even a proper band, Mick Jones of The Clash, Wayne Kramer of MC5 and Billy Bragg playing Clash and MC5 sings in a pub in Camden.

I love going to gigs so this got me thinking. I've seen quite a few bands that I love who are good live (and some that are shite, primal scream and stone roses I'm looking at you) and seen a few I don't like but who work really well live. In the end I'll go for the wedding present, consistently excellent over 30 years.

But ( and this doesn’t count I suppose ) I saw An audience with Peter Ustinov, in the Theartre Royal in Newcastle… I was right in the front row and I swear, a lot of the time he was speaking directly to me… it was all I could do to stop myself from engaging him in a private conversation!

It was absolutely brilliant I felt like he was letting me in on his private life…. Amazing

I remember seeing the at the Chelmsford v festival one year they were something else, that must of been around 2004/05?

Otherwise Alice Cooper has such a great stage performance.

Then Foo Fighters, they played an acoustic gig as warm up to their main European tour at my local theatre that was absolutely awesome.
