"Road rage by a racist driver it cut in and starled me as it had come along the wrong side of the road in nose to tail traffic and dived in near the junction. I just apped/touched my horn and he got out dancing, raving around my car and then banged really hard on then a nearly new Range Rover. Stupidly I got out and he was swearing and I said "stop it" he shoved me hard against the car and automticaly in my defence fist flew caught him on the chin and he was knocked out. intially I thought thank god he did not injure me etc then worried for the creature on the ground and others got out of their car and a guy threw water on its face. The others were very supportive and said they had footage and I was right to self defend and theyd back me - as we were waiting for the cops he got up swore and drove off and that was the last I heard about him It was scary and I would not recommend you get out of the car no matter how nasty etc the scum is" People in cars are next level crazy. Glad it worked out in your favour and you had witnesses to back you up. Usually it's the ones that start off being lairy quickly play the victim when they get a taste of their own medicine.

"When was the last time you had a punch up? Was it back at school, on a night out with the lads/girls and things got a bit agro? Maybe you've never had a fight and avoid any kind of confrontation at all costs. " 2006, a group of guys attacked us outside a club because of an argument we had inside. It didn't end well for them as most of us used to box.

Very true, thanks. However, as I said I would not do it again and you have a point. Another point, people like the chap that attacked me often have no insurance, car not registered etc and carry a weapon and often not working etc so nothing to lose it is a way of life for these inbred, inbred parasites.

"Some interesting and honest replies. If the opportunity arrose would anyone join something like a fight club (shit, just broke the first 2 rules) Would fighting for fun without repercussions be cathartic? " A very good question. For some it must be. Look at organised football hooligans. They went to games deliberately to fight opposing fans. No interest in the actual game. They got a huge buzz from it.

"Only ever seems to be when defending someone else. When I was 16 confronting three 18 year olds breaking into my disabled neighbours garden to steal apples. I ended up with a broken nose. Last time was about 4 years ago when I disciplined a staff member for inappropriate behaviour towards a female colleague and he headbutted me. I left him with a bloody nose before he walked out claiming mental health issues and therefore couldn't be disciplined further. Meanwhile I was suspended and about to lose my job for gross misconduct until the MD stepped in and put a stop to that. " Fights in the defence of others seems to be a common theme.

"Calais ferry terminal - many years ago A well known football team whilst on pre season tour thought it would be a good idea have a kick around on the quay - whilst pissed up & waiting for the ferry - anyway one of them shanks his pass & knocks my wing mirror clean off!(of a hire car) Anyway I get out of the car & give him proper punch in the face complete with a forearm smash in the follow through Gotta say it looked cool & he hit the deck about 10ft away from where we made contact! Loads of minions then piled out of the team bus - I assume to exact revenge on their team member but the manager blocked Their path and they got ushered back on the coach - ended the kick around too! " Bit of a wanker thing to do.

It says more about their personality than anything else. (I wonder if he's friends with Bananaman?) And may i say, great thread. Some really interesting and fascinating comments. Ive enjoyed reading the responses. " Kinda loving the irony of someone trying to start a fight on a fight thread

"Some interesting and honest replies. If the opportunity arrose would anyone join something like a fight club (shit, just broke the first 2 rules) Would fighting for fun without repercussions be cathartic? A very good question. For some it must be. Look at organised football hooligans. They went to games deliberately to fight opposing fans. No interest in the actual game. They got a huge buzz from it. Of course they were interested in the football. Ridiculous to say they werent. Read my comment more carefully...i didnt say they had no interest in football. Just no interest in the game. They would go to the town/city their team is playing in, and meet the home fans for a prearranged punch up. They wouldn't even attend the game Of course they attended the games. Ridiculous comment. Only ones didn't attend were those who were barred. Oh jesus...are you one of those guys who just like to criticise?? Im speaking from personal experience with work. And also friends who enjoyed that lifestyle. (Not me, i thought it was idiotic) There are two sorts of football violence...preplanned and spontaneous. Preplanned is organised crews, meeting usually some distance from the actual match. Spontaneous is usually fans who attend the game and clash after the match...either outside the ground or at transport hubs. That's why i very carefully chose my words. " For me they are clearly remembered because they are examples of my previous tendency to step in and help people and in each case I came out worse. There are other examples but most of those had similar outcomes. Despite where I grew up I've never found violence to be the answer to any disagreement and never subscribed to some of the macho bs that others do. If someone I care about is in danger I will protect them. If it's a random stranger in the street, unfortunately my experience has taught me to keep walking.

"Earlier this season on the rugby field One on one or a team effort?" always starts 1 on 1 but usually you get pulled apart and cop a sneaky one in the ear on the way out by the smallest player (cheeky little twat) and go get shower unless the ref is awesome (rare) and you get to smash em next time they get the ball its great to fire up the warrior spirit great way to release pent up stress from the week usually one backs down out of exhaustion by the end were all mates talking about it chatting shit taking the piss out of each other looking forward to the next battle its rarely personal unless its a derby then its full on war but its awesome

"So, it would seem that most people would go out of their way to avoid a physical conflict unless it was to protect a friend or loved one. The majority of women who have commented find violence abhorrent and/or have never had a fight. Sorry I haven't commented on every post but I have read every reply. What about watching boxing or MMA fights. Who enjoys those? I don't have a TV so haven't watched any in about 20 years. I did used to enjoy but they became a bit of a hug-a-thon. I've never seen any MMA or UFC matches. " I like watching old boxer like rocky Marciano and jack Dempsey I watch abit of mma and obviously I like Tyson fury

Anything can happen in a street fight, one punch, or push can lead to someone losing their life. I will avoid situations that put me in the position of threat, I don't glare at people, if someone shoulder bumps me I ignore it and never get road rage over a piece of tarmac. There could be a point that defending myself or others becomes essential, I would know that point has been reached and react accordingly.

"Outside Funny Girls in Blackpool. I was crossdressed waiting for a friend to arrive in a taxi. A bunch of lads walking by started shouting at me, obviously I ignored them and was looking in a different direction. So this one guy walks up the steps and he’s in my face with the usual ‘why you dressed like that ?’ or words to that affect. I look at him and then said quietly, that if I knocked him out, he’ll never live it down and believe me I can do it. I wasn’t sure if we would end up scrapping in the street but he did back off, obviously still giving it the big one whilst doing it. I’m sure if he’d tried to hit me I could’ve put up a good fight (not really dressed for it) I did box in the Army. So he’d lose in the long run even if he beat me in the fight, his mates would never let him forget a TV knocked a few of his teeth out. Not exactly a fight but one of the closest in the last few years. " Brilliant way to dissuade the potential aggressor . Brains over fists everytime.

"When was the last time you had a punch up? Was it back at school, on a night out with the lads/girls and things got a bit agro? Maybe you've never had a fight and avoid any kind of confrontation at all costs. " Mr here. 2006. I’d recently discovered my then fiancée was having an affair (more emotional than physical as she’d actually only slept with him once - the day before I gave her the boot.) Anyway, a few months after I’d kicked her out I was walking from a pub we all used to frequent. He hadn’t been there that night (and had actually stayed away since I found out what they’d done.) But what he had done is waited in the shadows down the alley between the road and the car park. He jumped out on me and attacked me. He lost pretty damn quickly, and it was physically obvious. The story he told her was he’d been randomly attacked on the way back from the pub, by a couple of football hooligans after the local match. Dozy cow bought it even though there hadn’t been a local match

I think some people are hardwired to be violent or have a fascination with it. Somehow if you admit it you're viewed as a Psycho. Do you think violence can be an addiction like sex or substances? "Late 90's i think, im Morecambe of all places. Visiting friends at Uni & went to little local club. Mate of a mate pastes some lad in the loo quite unknown to the rest of us. His mates then attack the rest of us, we didn't have a clue why. One guy had me by my long hair, kicking me in the face so i rugby tackled him & we went down some stairs (there's a theme developing here) Bouncers broke it up, blood everywhere. Saw one lad outside giving it large, so i stepped outside & headbutted him down a flight of stone stairs, whereupon someone hit me across the temple with a bottle! We all looked a right bonny bunch getting stitched up in A+E." So what do you think prompted you to start the fight again outside. Was it "unfinished business" or still on an adreline rush?

"It's interesting that no one has posted being in a fight they lost I generally succeed in diffusing even the worst situations I find myself in. I have however found myself in a situation where my best mate started a fight (remembering back he used to that alot). In this instance he decided to take on 4 marines which wasn't going well for him. He was held up in a doorway with them basically punching his head in. I reluctantly dived in but it didn't actually help. Despite temporarily incapacitating one of the four the odds were rebalanced when another 4 of them pitched up and dragged me out into the street. I was on the receiving end of a bit of a kicking when I saw a fifth guy an absolute man mountain heading towards the affray. He walked up, reached in and picked me straight up off the floor by my neck like I was a doll. He wagged his finger in my face and told me stop, I did actually laugh at this point as I was quite happy to stop being given a kicking. He told all eight of them to f@ck off back to base, and they did. That probably could have gone a lot worse and stands as a great example of why it's the only fight I've ever been in." I did in one of the early comments. Lost a frying pan fight to my brother.

"I've only ever been in one fight on an equal footing, about 15 years ago I punched a guy who was out with of us via mutual friends after he was repeatedly abusive to my then partner. I felt ashamed but ultimately he'd just reduced my partner to tears and had ruined her night ajd had not responded to being told to fuck off so there was a lot of provocation. I was beat up multiple times at school and on more than one occassion by the local hooligans well into to my 20s (including being hospitalised on one occassion) for the crime of being a little different so I pretty much abhore violence." Do you think that any of the group of hooligan would have attacked you if they were on their own or is it a mod mentally thing?

" At school it was definitely about looking powerful in front of others. I had an awful experience when I was around 15 when I feared fir my life and thst was one older kid who effectively took me hostage fir a couple of hours but other than that it was always, without exception the power of mob mentality

That probably could have gone a lot worse and stands as a great example of why it's the only fight I've ever been in. We all looked a right bonny bunch getting stitched up in A+E. So what do you think prompted you to start the fight again outside. Was it "unfinished business" or still on an adreline rush? " Probably both. He was bragging to a group of girls how badly he'd hurt one of our group - who was at that moment lying on his back being treated by door staff. So i must have decided i wasn't having that.
