Since I gave up drinking 6 months ago after, erm, abusing the privilege somewhat I've noticed most people drink too much, are always hungover, look rough, repeat themselves and talk a lot of bollocks.

Nah, an unreconstructed alcoholic is worse than just about anything.

That's me to a T. I'm pssed as a fart but I don't look rough unless it's just the beer goggles making me look good! Been talking bollocks all night but it's been a very funny night one I won't regret regardless of the hangover tomorrow!

Fair play for giving up the pop. Every few months I will have a phase of no drinking but it never lasts, I have cut right down though. I certainly can't see any point getting d*unk any more. A few steady pints does me.

So non drinkers will meet drinkers, but non smokers often won't meet smokers. What's the difference then? I can smell alcohol on peoples breath a mile off. Plus people perform better sober, in my humble opinion.

Are you kidding me?! Why should anyone justify their choices to you?

I drink very rarely but don't find it disgusting. I don't smoke and I find it revolting. It also makes me ill as it triggers my asthma.

I wouldn't expect anyone to turn up to a meet pissed off their head anyway. I'd not continue with the meet if anyone did.

If you don't drink and don't want to meet drinkers, that's your prerogative. I will continue to meet, or not meet, according to my preferences.

We love alcohol free bars. Some people call them all inclusive bars, whilst on holiday, but nonetheless, if the alcohol is free, we LOVES it, we do!

Surely the key words is “abused” the privilege

I agree some people who are selfish enough to abuse drink do talk bollicks whilst under its influence, but then again I wouldn’t really expect them not too….

But I also think our supposedly sober-minded political establishment’s intention of introducing a unit price of alcohol in an ill-conceived attempt to cut down on irresponsible drinking is utter bollicks too…!

I dont drink a lot, but i do let my hair down once in a blue moon.

I do find myself being put off by people who drink a lot, just find it a shame that people need alcohol to be able to relax and chill out. id much rather spend time with someone who doesnt need it. Its all personal preference. Im not perfect and have my vices.. but my real father was/is an alcohollic and guess thats why i find it so unattractive that people choose to consume so much.

I love a drink when I go out. I rarely drink at home but equally have fun without it.

For instance we're going to a club tonight and I'm going to drive, and I'm very much a "none for the road" kind of person - I just don't see the point in teasing myself like that.

On the flip side I've seen people completely blotto in clubs and it's incredibly unsexy. Hands up we did it our first night in a club and never again. That's why we love bring your own beer - I know how much is a "happy/horny/fun" amount, so that's all i take. Once it's gone it's water for the rest of the night, which again isn't a bad thing when your usually under a lot if physical excursion.

8 years for me and I could still happily spark up. The only difference now is, if I don't, I don't feel the need to kill people! Lol
