Nice shirt and trousers, have seen ones in full tracksuit and dirty trainers.

First impressions are key, you don't have to be in a full suit but smartly dressed atleast.

For some reason, a dress and heels makes me more confident and comfortable... In my normal life, I rarely wear dresses and usually in my gym kit.

I had a job interview last week over Teams. I put on a suit and tie as I’d expect anyone I was interviewing to do the same.

At first I was considering wearing jeans for the bottom half as it wouldn’t be seen, but thought just on the off chance I had to stand I’d put the full suit on.

I always wear a suit, I'd rather they think I was too smart than too scruffy. All it needs is one person on the panel expecting a suit and tie and it's a negative impression straight off

It really does depend on the industry and the position, but I'd always err on the side of overdressed rather than underdressed, first impressions really do count. I work in Corporate World and would never dream of attending an interview unless I was fully suited and booted.

I always dress smartly for an interview, regardless of the job. If you look like you don't care, the interviewer won't want to remember you.

I had a job interview on Thursday, set my alarm for 7am as my interview was at 9 giving me plenty of time to get dressed and sorted for interview.

I only slept in ! Woke up at 8.40 and my interview was 9am and 20mins away. I had prepared what I was wearing the day before, so basically jumped out of bed throw my clothes on and jump in the car shirt unbuttoned looking a right mess, hair not done or even time to brush my teeth. Grabbed a mouthful of toothpaste on way out door.

Traffic was light so i arrived bang on time.

Straightened myself out went for the interview and smashed it.

I start my new lob Monday.

To answer your questions I didn't wear a suit I wore smart trousers and shirt and matching belt and shoes.

Don’t think it has to be a suit but definitely smartly dressed. I guess it depends what you are going for but I imagine if it’s an industry you’re progressing in then you will have a good idea of what is expected of you. Sent my son to his supermarket interview in smart trousers, shirt and tie. I wore smart clothes to my interview even though I am a cleaner.

Yes. At my last interview I wore a three-piece suit and even had my pocket watch.

If in doubt, wear a suit (that doesn't rhyme does it?)

Where I work, men had to wear a tie 4 or 5 years ago, now people wear jeans and some wear trainers. I wouldn't suggest that for an interview though!
