"I think it’s going to make for interesting times as he’s never really been good at staying out of things politically especially around the environment. But he’s still an extremely privileged man who has no idea about ordinary peoples lives… " I agree. All morning i've been reading posts by people who think that the monarchy benefit this country and that the things they do are for US. They are a huge part of the establishment that controls us with jingoism , pomp, circumstance, smoke and mirrors.

But beware who you say that to, the flag shaggers get furious at those kinds of truths.

"I have no opinion as I don't know the bloke. I don't blame him for being 'out of touch' with the people as it's not his fault he was born into royalty. When you are born into wealth, you have no concept of real life but that doesn't make you a bad person. Just because people loved the queen doesn't mean they need to batter the man before he's even had a chance to prove himself. " 100% this .... respect is needed at this time whatever your views maybe

"He’s got big shoes to fill personally I think he’ll do well " The Queen's shoes should never be filled and I don't think he will even try. I think if we give him a chance to make his mark he will do well.

All I'm saying is I've seen a lot of comments along the lines of yours and I think we shouldn't expect him to feel her shoes.

"She thinks Prince Charles is going to be a horrendous king Charles and when I asked her why she said it's by pure luck he is where he is and a privilege of birth." How does she think the Queen got her job in the first place?

"She thinks Prince Charles is going to be a horrendous king Charles and when I asked her why she said it's by pure luck he is where he is and a privilege of birth. How does she think the Queen got her job in the first place?" Actually our Queen was never born to be Queen. It was only because of Edward VIII abdication.

"He seems out of touch with the rest of the population tbh. I can't see how any of the younger generation will take to him, as they haven't grown up with him as King and doesn't really mean anything to them. Back in the day Royalty were like celebs, but now the kids follow YouTubers and TikTokers. I think, for the benefit of the monarchy, he should handle all the passing over of duties and all that is required right now, and once things settle, stand down and pass it on. We need a younger King who has more in common with the younger generations. " He has overseen the Princes Trust since 1976, working with vulnerable under 30s and helping literally millions of young people.

I'm just of the belief that the younger generation don't look up to him in the same way they do influencers because for 'most' of them he hasn't had a presence in their lives and would seem out of touch.
