Yes with both brothers and their families. I am specially close to the immediate younger one. The very younger one has gone his own way in recent years but we are still in contact now and again.

I tolerate him for my parents' sake.

When the day comes that they are no longer here I'll be quite happy to have as little to do with him as possible.

We're all very different personalities so yes, we 'get on' but no, we're not close really.

No big drama usually which is something compared to what some deal with

Pretty much the same here, and sorry to say I'd feel no guilt about it either.

Yes I get in with them. I rarely see them though because they're scattered around the country and the world. Ironically the one who lives closest is the one I see least. I walked past him in the street once because I didn't recognise him

Finedon ,

I have one sibling, my younger sister, we get on very well and talk on the phone every week, don't get to see her as much as I would like as she lives 200 miles away and I hate driving.

Meh, not really.

I only like two of them but I wouldn't say we are close. I don't really speak to or trust any of the others. My family is a bit dysfunctional unfortunately.

Once my sister had had her children (which began 18 years ago) then we both changed/respected each other a lot more and have got on. Before that we always used to argue/try getting the better of each other etc

This thread has come at a perfect time.

I've just cut one of my brothers out of my life completely. I was feeling a bit of guilt because it has upset my parents.

But it looks like it's a lot more common than I realized.

My other brother is a saint.

One yes, we are very close and one I tolerate but we don’t rub along very well at all.

I can’t do drama, manipulation or controlling behaviour so needless to say we clash badly and if in the same space its pleasantries only. Even my mother had to say something about it recently as my sibling I get along with and I decided we would avoid family gatherings if it was allowed to continue.

My 2 sisters I love unconditionally, my brother ??? I'd happily see him in court for his actions which should in all fairness result in jail time.

I often wonder who will pay for his funeral since he's distanced every single family member.

"This thread makes me feel a bit sad reading about all the people who don’t have anything to do with their siblings. "

Why? You can choose your friends but can't choose your family.

For the sake of my late mother I put myself in the middle of blatant homophobia and now post transition, transphobia. My siblings harp on about "blood is thicker than water" - yeah that may be because it's toxic.

Don't be sad for us. Some of us get lemons, and we're happy making lemonade!

We don't speak that frequently. I'd say in the main we share core beliefs, and if the going got tough we'd be an amazing team (on smaller issues this is definitely true). We do tend to grate on each other, but as time goes on that seems increasingly inconsequential.

My cousins on the other hand... Hoo boy.

I’ve two sisters and a brother and I love them unconditionally. I’m blessed to have such strong and grounded people in my life.

I would do anything for any of them and if one of them phoned to say that they needed help then I’d drop everything for them and the same applies in reverse.

We were always close but we lost our dad last year and that has brought us closer.

Funnily enough I really like one of my brother in laws, I tolerate the other and can’t stand my sister in law. Still all that matters is that each of them love my siblings.
