Great North Run 22 - doing something for someone.

My nan’s spare room.

Any of you lovely folk either taking part or perhaps going to watch.

I’m going there running in aid of Alzheimer’s Research.

I know times are so hard for many and there’s so many charities so I just urge people instead of giving to a charity in cash, just think of all the worthy causes in the world and ask, can I do anything to help somebody else.

In other news, I’m going to be knackered.

Damn it, I read that as naked at first

I'm not a runner, though my dad and brother have done that run many times. Good luck

North West

It's something I might try, by wheelchair, when I've got my new chair sorted...... I did 10k in May and think I could manage the half.

Well done for running it...if you've not done it before its a fantastic experience!! I've done it twice for charity....me and a friend dressed as Where's Wally haha...it was brilliant, the crowd certainly play their part and keep you going.

I did it for Asthma charity (I already had it due to work), ended up getting a nasty chest infection which progressed to pleurisy and eventually ended up being diagnosed with bronchiectasis and now my chest is totally goosed , can't say I regret doing it because it was a brilliant day, the crowds are absolutely fantastic and there's always someone somewhere who is worse off.

If anyone is thinking about doing it.... Do it.

Going to run tonight and see how my knee holds up after falling on Sunday.

Also, it's someone else's place and they're in a slower wave than I would have run in. We'll see...

That’ll be my wave.

I’m hoping for sub 2 hours but I think it will be close.

I’ve been told it’s a bit undulating but not particularly hilly. It finishes along the seafront.

She was in the 2.30 wave and apparently it's tricky to move forward as it's so crowded. Long way for me to go as well when I'm unlikely to get a PB.

I’m just going to enjoy the experience plus I’ve got a charity place so am able to raise some money.

Good luck on Sunday it’s for an amazing cause. The mr has ran the gnr several times and has always said it’s his favourite race. He was part of a running club and started with the elite runners .

His advice to everyone is don’t set off to quick and be knackered by the time you cross the Tyne bridge. You need to save some energy for mile 11 it’s a climb up to the coast and a steep drop onto the sea front but then it’s flat finish.

As for me I can barely drive 13 mile without breaking into a sweat

The worst 1/2 marathon I ever ran!

Placed my self in a start area for 1& 1/2 run time.

People stopped running after about 1/2 a mile. Wasn't until 11 miles did I get on my pace.
