I have just spent a weekend in Wimbledon village. A really nice area. Green spaces, well currently dry grass, and, as always I looked in estate agents windows.

It seemed a semi detached averages around £2m and there was a 6 bed detached for £17m.

Now I’m sure it’s lovely but if money was no object where would you live and why?

Faversham. Just an hour or so from London by train. Near the coast. Lovely, friendly people.

And it's in God's own county.

Nah,everyone knows God country is Wales. Amazing beaches further west you travel and beautiful towns, villages. I'm lucky to live 1 hour drive to visit Brecon Beacons mountains or 1 hour drive to the nearest beach.

BTW, that is just the village. The town is not so nice. And both places are overrun with tennis fans for 2 weeks each year.

It's a piss take. Almost over the country.

Price of milk goes up and people loose their shit.

Price of bread goes up ,people loose their shit. Price of your house goes up and everyone thinks its brilliant.

Where are your kids going to stay.? 100 year mortgage is on its way.

My dad grew up in a 4 bedroom house on Wimbledon hill and also lived in another house near the common. No way could any of the family afford to live there anymore!

Even with all the money in the world I would still live right here. I'd buy though. Maybe buy one of the big old houses that's converted to flats and turn it back into a massive house.

We don't have endless riches however we are in the process of selling up and emigrating to Portugal. We would still go there and buy a small holding if we were from the elite. You don't need excessive riches to find your nirvana

How nice to say.

Actually this. There’s some places in the Lake District hat suits me. Out of the way, in the woods where I love to be.

But I’d probably opt for Viginia USA, realy close to the Smokey mountains. They have the better weather.

North Bucks

I like the area North of Salisbury plain up to the the Cotswolds.

Not had much urban sprawl and has lovely villages.

It’s around an hour from the coast as well.

I’m exploring ideas about moving down should the right place come up. Ten years there then I think move home.

If money was no object a house in the Savernake would be nice.

I like it where I am. Nice and quiet seaside town. Seafront about 5-10 mins drive away. Larger towns/cities just a short train or car journey away. To answer the question, if money was no object I suppose a larger place to store 2-3 of my favourite cars!

I'd stay close to where I am but probably head out of this town (as nice as it is) and find a cottage in one of the villages. Main priority would remain plenty of bridleways and footpaths close by to be out in the fields.
