It's a polite way saying " i read your profile looked at you photos may have fabed a few. If you wanna chat wink back".

It's like when you out in a bar,and you see someone you like. You look over try and lock on with there eyes. And you can get an idea if they are interested to have a conversation with.

I know the ladies get bombarded with messages and sometimes the unprovoked unnecessary dickpic. So it's a less intrusive to grab someone's attention.

How do you take the wink?

Do you see it the same way or errr creep?

We always check out the profile of anyone who sends us a wink. If we don’t respond it’s because we have read there profile and don’t have any interests that match.

I’m wracking my brain. I don’t think I’ve ever had a meet come from a wink. So for that reason they are pointless for me.

I don’t send messages after seeing multiple screenshots of initial messages from different blokes being shared in an all female Telegram group.

For that very reason I only send winks now.

"Maybe a sign they lack confidence or chat."

Not at all.

You don't just walk up to someone and just talk. First you acknowledge each other and you can tell if they would be more than ok for a chat.

Two ways I start a conversation

1st if they have put a status up and start with that. Really depends on what status is said to how you start.

2nd read the bio see if there is a conversation you just starts with from there.

If there in no status or much to go from, from the bio then it's all about what they look like then a wink is a polite way saying you look nice would you like to chat.

I wish the wink system was the only form of contact. Then if the feelings mutual, the messaging box could be open between those people. It would stop a lot of bombarding and people wasting time.

We wink and fab pictures on profiles of those that interest us. We do it to say hi were here and if you are interested then please feel free to wink back. If that happens then we message.

As for being lazy, I don't agree.

I know some people are inundated with messages, I've seen messages sent that have stay unread for 3 weeks, which I fully understand.

I also prefer to send a wink because if it's reciprocated then you can send that first message beginning with thanks for the wink and then write why you winked, what you liked etc.

We have chatted with some wonderful people through winks and are hoping to meet some of them soon.

D x

That would be a great idea kinda like oh a match lets open private message up for then.

That would stop/reduce the bombarding of unnecessary messages and dick pics and aggressive messages.

I'll wink, its just testing the water, right?!

... more likely to message though to be fair, or reply directly off a forum thread

I just looked, and I have hundreds of winks that I didn't even know were there! I tend to spend most of my time on here in the forum and deleting unwanted messages and dick pics. So winks, unsolicited friend requests and gabs of my photos pretty much go un-noticed.

On fact, I rarely engage with anyone these days unless it's through something arising in the forum. And those messages are easy to spot in my inbox because the subject line is the thread heading.

Time is short, and precious, so I need to manage my fabmin appropriately.

Lack of effort. Like "hi" or "hello" as an opening message.

All over the place! Northwesr, , Southwest

The wink system works much better for women winking men than the other way around. Valid way of showing interest if unsure to message. I'd always reply if the person's profile was appealing.

I agree that it probably works much better for us women.

However, when my message filters are open, I always check any winks I receive too. If I like the look of your profile then I wink back.

I feel it’s a much more organic way of initially contacting someone than having an amazingly interesting first message that you just cut and paste to suit.

It must work occasionally.

I winked a woman here. Within half an hour of that, I was balls deep in her.

Result.

If you block single men (or any other demographic) im pretty sure sending a wink enables them to message you

Most of the people do not see the winks here i think, but same as you i think its a good way of showing that you are interested in someone. If they do not care to watch your profile after you have winked, then there is no point to text them…

This is how i read it..

Sometimes I get winked and I wink back or message and then nothing, I tend to ignore most of them for that reason.

It's easier in public than on here to know if someone is really interested or just messing around

Do people still wink at each other in public? I'd assume they just had dirt in their eyes

Would certainly make people put effort into their profiles and stop alot of unwanted mail too x

We use the wink system, if someone winks us we check out the profile and follow up with a message if we're interested.
