Good morning all, how are we doing this week?

I’ve had some anxiety but nothing too awful. Sick of the scaremongering over the weather because I think that has affected my head, also had my son’s PIP assessment phone call this morning that I was nervous about. Got my last essay of the academic year to finish in the next few days and then I’ll be free until September!

Been invited to a friend’s house for lunch today. I told her I didn’t have time then decided that I could probably manage an hour or two and it would do us both good so I’m looking forward to that.

How are you this week? xx

Hey OP, same as you really, had a bit of anxiety lately but its gotten better over time. I just got back from holiday recently so I'm back at work now and regretting not taking an extra day to relax after the holiday. I work from home though so at least I don't need to travel much haha. Hope you enjoy your lunch at your friend's place! X

surrounded by twinkly lights

Great new about the assignment and the friend decision, very positive

I'm trying to not moan too much about the weather, but its hard work when you are constantly a sweaty mess

On the plus side we break up this week so everything will change as the school run pressure is removed and hot overtired children and me can just flake and chill

Not all that North of North London

I'm doing good, though being tired during to the heat isn't great

Spent Saturday out walking with a friend of my partner's and a group of his friends. I'd met him once before so in effect only knew my partner and realised that is the most prolonged socialising I've done with new people in months, probably since before covid. And that's huge for me

Hey,I'm having quite a good time, met some lively people on fab but as usual they are at the other end of the country but still great to have fun people to talk to.

Got a job interview on wednesday and maybe a social!

On the down side, its too hot so I am having to relax and drink cold drinks, hard times.

Hope everyone is having a good day or on their way to having a good day.

For a refreshing change I am doing really well this Monday. After a string of low mood and stress filled weeks I had a corker of a weekend which was well overdue. I am making the most of the high spirits while I can

I've been in a bit of a slump recently.

Someone who I was very close with (ex partner in a poly dynamic) used alot of mental manipulation to make it seem like her flaws are my fault.

I know it wasn't and have discussed it with friends who are aware of everything and that's helped see things clearer.

Still makes the days rough as I rarely let anyone into my inner circle and that feeling of betrayal and feelings of how could I of been so stupid take hold.

Being mixed couple of weeks and expect to continue

Battling thoughts of causing pain to myself to deal with the emotions of feeling guilty about my mh

Also don't cope well in heat

Also have mri this week as follow up to my hospital stay in June

At least have had the women's euros to distract me

Afternoon Starfly

Today is a decent day, but the past couple of weeks have been very mixed. I'm not sure being signed off work has done much for the depression, though the anxiety is less. An increase in my AD dose has stolen my mojo and replaced it with weight gain. Hopefully that will balance out soon enough. Back to work on Wednesday, which I'm most looking forward to.

Starflylou has helped me enormously and I’m really grateful to her for starting these threads and also taking the time to reply to me personally.

Due to the nature of this site I think I’m happy to give a rundown of things that today have overwhelmed me, I don’t want to talk too much to those near to me!

I’m still trying to recover from a break up from 4 months ago, and struggling to do it.

This day last year was the last time I saw my dad and she was with me all the way and that’s increased my feeling of loss.

Losing my dad as year ago.

Dealing with caring for my disabled daughter single handedly, because her mum can’t visit due to covid.

Helping my mum get her house sorted as she has a major bleed on the brain a year ago.

What I do know is change is around the corner as nothing lasts forever.

Thanks for reading if you got this far xxx

You’re doing great op!

Well I’ve been ghosted by fwb which is massively frustrating as I clearly have to clue as to what’s happened! Ugh! My head was a bit of a mess anyway without that so it’s defo not helped but it gave me some clarity to contact ex husband to discuss divorce which has provided some weird feeling of relief.

Ankle not much better and I look a complete rest hobbling about with knee length tubigrip in this weather but if that’s the worst that’s gonna happen then I guess I’m doing ok.

Anxiety has been quite high but symptoms manageable with low dose meds.

I’ve made a friend through this thread and we’ve been chatting for a couple of weeks and it’s good to have someone regular to say hi to and have a giggle with to check in on. I was also really looking forward to the updates on this thread and seeing how you were doing op so thank you so much for running this thread x I love reading your update and your responses to people x

Hugs to all who need (I definitely do this week)

Yesterday wasn't great for a variety of reasons. Perfect storm situation I guess.

Made me realise I need to change couple of things about me. I know emotions aren't a switch and it's not as simple as I want it to be but I'm on the right path, right?

Anyway, I've got an entire week ahead of me, no work, no plans and no letting my head get occupied with things beyond my control.

I’ve had an up and down week, but more up than down at least.

Had some great people to talk to from here though sadly one seems to had stopped dead for some reason, at least I ended the week by completing the Beat the Boat 10km in Windsor, despite the scorching weather

Sorry to hear that. I think it’s normal for anti-depressant effects to alter over time, I’d recommend you have a chat with your GP, they’re the best person to advise on this really, it might be that you need the dosage adjusting or to try something else x

Sertraline is good but it doesn’t work on its own - you also need to look at anything in your life which is making you unhappy and try to change that. This is where counselling helps. For a short time you may need an increased dose or something else added. Please see you CPN or GP or talk to someone you can trust.
