"The French are up to their old tricks. A couple who were out camping were attacked by a wild boar and had to climb a tree to escape from the bugger. They managed to call for rescue from a mobile phone but the police arrived. They chased off the wild boar but then fined the campers for camping illegally. Apparently it's against the law to camp illegally in France. Whats going on here guys ..." Maybe it was illegal to camp there because of the risk of a wild boar attack?

"This one is all over the news" It was all over the news yesterday about wild campers in the UK, spoiling designated ancient monument sites.. unfortunately they can't be caught because there is no way of policing the areas .. so good on the French

"At least they didn’t kick it to death like that poor Cornish seagull." I wouldn't want to go up against a wild boar. Or even one that's slightly miffed

"Fining people for breaking the law? I thought I'd heard it all, but I'd put nothing past those frogleg-eating bastards. " Hope he doesn't work in diplomacy.

"I thought the French would have filleted the boar and braised in a nice cognac with juniper berries and pinch of tarragon? This isn’t the French I know…" Mmmm sounds lush

""The French are up to their old tricks"? " You know, having revolutions, chopping the heads off royalty, fineing wild campers. I'm pretty sure the wild camping bit is one of the main points in the Code Napoleon, especially if the campers are "Le English".

"If wild camping is illegal then what did the revolution achieve.. " It got rid of the aristocracy. Why would it lead to legalising wild camping?

"At least they didn’t kick it to death like that poor Cornish seagull. I wouldn't want to go up against a wild boar. Or even one that's slightly miffed " Only with at least a .308, and from a reasonable distance!!

"Well these buggers got caught up a tree with a wild boar waiting below.. they got a hefty fine for some reason " BECAUSE THEY BROKE FRENCH LAW. Being British in France does not excuse lawbreaking, despite what a sense of English exceptionalism they might have.

"We have the right to roam but glad there are no wild boar in Essex.. they are aggressive beasts with no place in a civilised society " We have the right to roam but the recent trespass laws have made "wild camping" illegal in most parts of England.

"We have the right to roam but glad there are no wild boar in Essex.. they are aggressive beasts with no place in a civilised society " Yet again, you're talking out of your ar*e Tom! There are (were) 131 known of in Braintree, and 36 I believe in Tendring. I can agree that they can be aggressive, but a lot of wildlife can be when threatened. Are you advocating the extinction of all wildlife??
