Actually you are wrong, unaccompanied child migrants/refugees are not normally deported. I don't see this as a political story, I see this as a human story that needs to be told as this is happening right now too.

Not quite, depends when they arrived. I had a lad serving in my department on a nuclear submarine whose application for stay in the UK was refused, he was deported. Had he not needed to apply for DV vetting he could have seen out his career in the RN. Real sad, he was one of the best lads.

Sad as this is for Mo, he should now go through the hoops and get formal decision to stay. It needs to be done to prevent other mothers in other countries giving away their children for 'service' and better life in the UK.

Irrespective of who you are, illegal entry and immigration cannot be one rule for one and another rule for someone else.

He does have formal permission to stay and a British passport.

He hasn't done anything wrong at all. He was 8 years old and traffic here. He has official British citizenship and a passport. He has done nothing wrong except not publicly declare how he arrived here that is not the same as not alerting the authorities.

It does raise an interesting question as to what we now call him.. but deportation is the least worrying thing

No he wasn't he was kept by a woman and then rescued by a teacher and the local authority was involved.
